What the frick? I have had a couple accounts that were signed up using a VPN or TOR and after the 24h clearance period they worked just like any other.
I used it as a throw-away site but they changed the sign-up process so I just made a proper account and use it for all sorts of trash. Pretty good. Never had any issues with it.
>No IMAP support (you can't use Thunderbird or mutt) >No sane filtering functionality >No sane import/export functionality >No PGP support >No offline mode (although they plan to add it) >Only 5 aliases ON YOUR OWN DOMAIN (just why?)
Their custom "encryption" is just an excuse for vendor lock-in. All of the above also applies to other "private" email providers such as ProtonMail.
>Only 5 aliases ON YOUR OWN DOMAIN (just why?)
its 5 aliases overall, tutanota.com, tutamail.com, tutanota.de, tuta.io, custom domain, its just 5 aliases
The locked-down system that forces you to use their client is complete homosexualry, but you could theoretically make your own since its le open sauce. Additionally, it doesn't glow anywhere near as bright as proton.
Every "encrypted, privacy-oriented" email service is probably a scam. The reason is very simple: there is no way for you to verify those claims.
No matter the service, the only way to ensure that nobody except the intended recipient can read the messages is, as usual, E2E encryption, using PGP or something comparable. At that point, the specific service used for mail won't matter much.
Of course, this assumes that the end devices aren't compromised according to your threat model. If they are, not even E2E encryption is enough.
i never saw anyone here say it's honeypot le bad etc, is it really so cool?
The service is good yeah never had a problem with it.

You look like this.
Can't even sign up. No matter what I'm using, tried a VPN, Tor, bare IP, mobile bare IP, neighbor's wifi.
>filtered by tutanota signup
Lol
>Events that never occur
>Things that never happen
come on now
It's happened to lots of people lol
They expect you to email support and get your IP range whitelisted. No way I'm wasting my time doing that.
Post proof lmao.

it's trash, there is no way to connect with IMAP and migrate all your mail somewhere else.
Once you're there, there's no way to get your emails out.
Its not their problem that you never backup your garbage.
For 12 EUR/mo you get:
>No IMAP support (you can't use Thunderbird or mutt)
>No sane filtering functionality
>No sane import/export functionality
>No PGP support
>No offline mode (although they plan to add it)
>Only 5 aliases ON YOUR OWN DOMAIN (just why?)

Either use MXRoute/Migadu or just self-host.

Very comfy email provider, even though something is wonky about iOS notification badges
>shitty web email
>can't use thunderbird
>forces you to use their shitty client
>probably glows harder than protonmail
It's neither good nor reliable.
The locked-down system that forces you to use their client is complete homosexualry, but you could theoretically make your own since its le open sauce. Additionally, it doesn't glow anywhere near as bright as proton.
