It's more convenient for normies if all you want to do is browse the web or do normal school work on it. And even then it's only better if you are already entrenched in the ecosystem (you have an iPhone, Apple watch, iPad, etc). As an android user I'm still kind of envious of how seamless airdrop is. Google's version was always hot ass to the point where they literally had to partner with Samsung because Samsung at least knew what the frick they were doing with quick share.
With that being said, if you're already on an Android phone there is literally no reason to switch. People tend to stay with whatever their first phone was. If your parents got you an Android as your first phone you are more likely to stick with that. Same with iOS. The only reason I switched from iOS to Android is because I'm an autist who likes control, customizability, and expandable storage. You literally could not pay me to switch back to iOS permanently.

How did macs get so bizarre in UI design? I remember the days of OS x tiger and if you loaded an oldass mac in front of me with tiger or snow leopard it would feel so much realer? Like the UI felt physical and impactful. That feeling of using safari or loading quicktime.

I never used a macOS since I need windows for vidya, but I did use iOS and if it weren't for the terrible prices I think it's usually better than anything android has to offer except high end samsung.

I moved from an iPad Pro to a galaxy s9 ultra, I mainly use Lightroom. But also use as a laptop for office work with team viewer/rustdesk

Made the change 8-9 years ago and never looked back … aside of storage prices. Shit got only more comical with time. Base iPad Pro costs 1049 euros here now (was 879), already excessive and without the pen or keyboard but oh well, there is no competition in the device class, w/e. Now if you want to upgrade to 16gb RAM you have to pick 1TB version which is … 1929. It's almost the same fricking price as buying two base iPads yo.

I switched mid last year just because of the M-series chips. The M2 Pro in my MacBook Pro somehow outperforms the 24 core 13th get i9 I had in my tower when it came to music production in Cubase. Some fricking black magic they did to produce chips like that. I'd say the Apple Ecosystem is better overall in everything except vidyah. I have to keep a separate PC hooked to a KVM just for it.

Used to be iPhone + Linux. Then I picked up an M1 Air on a whim (base specs, from Apple's refurb shop.) Still continued to use the Thinkpad for another year for work. Then I had to travel for a month, so I used it as a trial for the Air; plus the Air and my portable monitor takes up the same same space as the old machine. Haven't gone back since. The next time I used the Thinkpad was to reformat it.
Airdrop is super convenient. I can copy/paste between devices. Select text off a photo, then paste it into a document on the computer. Can drag documents into an iMessage window. Write long'ish text messages from the computer. Continuity camera is pretty cool, but I never really put it to full use, particularly with the Apple TV; I guess I like having my phone available to use.
And since the Air is Apple Silicon, I can even use iOS apps on it.
Also have an iPad, but it's on a different account, so I haven't been able to try the Sidecar features.
I imagine these types of features are available in the Android+Windows/Linux world, but not as "basic functionality."
I got a mac and it sucks. I'm not going to bother buying anything else apple

I'm OS agnostic, I use a MacBook as my personal laptop/daily driver, a windows PC for heavy lifting and games and an Android phone. And a Linux home server.
Everything works together just fine so long as you know what you are doing.
Considering replacing the 13" Air with a 15" or a 14" pro though since it's an original M1

Yep. I moved from Android to iPhone around 10 years ago, ironically it was the openness of Androids that made me move away from them. I spent more time customising everything than I did using the phone.
I was a big Mac hater, until I got given an M2 for work (work in cybsec). Now, I exclusively use Macs for personal/work stuff (web browsing, coding, comms etc) and a PC exclusively for gaming, it's essentially a glorified console.
Apple Pay, iMessage, FaceTime and KeyChain are something I use daily, so it's handy to have my phone and Mac synced.
