I have a small one I wrote in javafx that I use for playing Legends of the Five Rings when my tabletop group plays that. Just rolls the appropriate amount of dice and highlights the ones you'd keep for a max score.
For context, in L5R you have your skill score and your attribute score, you roll a number of dice equal to these added and select dice equal to your attribute to keep.

The program only needs to take alphanumeric data, pictures and pdf files provided by the user, and automatically organise them in documents and Excel files. Would python be a good language for this? I am a complete codelet and techlet btw, so I will have to learn as I go with this project.

me and a coworker wrote a C# application that only us two use to format inputs and outputs to and from the mainframe system we work on. i.e. a query file to make sure every parm is position appropriately, has no special chars like blanks or escape ones. or decode packed decimal and hex-encoded values into decimal and alphanumeric values respectively.
