Less screen time. Blue light attenuating apps for devices (critical in the evening, less eye strain the rest of the time). Screen text eye tracking is physically different from IRL pages enough to require an adjustment period switching between the two comfortably over sustained periods. After that it's moderating Vitamin B1 depleting food and drink (sugar, alcohol, caffeine, hence the shakes) and supplementing or adjusting diet as required.
It's like therapy for muscles that have gone unused/underused. You build up your ability slowly but steadily. Picrel chart will probably help. Even if you don't actually have any diagnosable disorder, cognitive skills need to be cultivated and refined when neglected/mutilated.
I manage to squeeze in about 50 just naturally but my life fricking sucks and everyone sucks my time and patience dry like moron leeches so im grateful I can manage 50
I genuinely read at a pace of 0.5-1 pages per minute depending on how dense the material is. I don't know why I've been reading regularly since middle school
I think anyone could if they really wanted to but that kills some of the allure of reading. Reading a book has some intangible quality that becomes part of your life when you’re reading it. Burning through books fast kill this experience. Reading is a journey meant to be savored. If you really have nothing else to do, think about a book more. I usually read 10-20 pages at a time then take a break for 5-10 minutes and think over what I read before reading again
It's a catch 22. The books that get lived in are the slow burning ones which might be worth savoring, but the ones I binge in one or few sittings are because I enjoy them so much, and therefore would be best to take very slowly
Yeah, pick your poison. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that it’s more about my life and mindset that depends upon how I feel about a specific book. Feeding into that, I’ve always seen books as an extension of my life, and some of my favorite books aren’t necessarily my favorites because of a technical level or my enjoyment of them, but simply because they were in the background during a good week in my life. If you read the right book at the right time it can be life changing. Ultimately I think it’s best to have two books going at once so you don’t burn yourself out on one that you really like
it's not, you either have rich parents or you work. Some people get lucky, yes, but they're minority, most get wrecked up by falling into crypto, pyramid scheme scam, nft and other shit, you just don't hear about these gullible morons. Seriously, look into your background, your parents, your environment, and think if not for the outside factors, would you really didn't have to work? Would you really go on anonymous IQfy board and call people who didn't have enough luck to roll into good external factors a literal subhumans? People like you are very short-sighted and lack self-reflection
To the slow-reading anons: it's a long shot but maybe the problem is your eyes are jittery. I'm most likely an autistic frick because I couldn't do more than 15-20 pages an hour when I tried reading with my eyes like a normal person. I would just lose concentration, my eyes couldn't keep a straight line of sight and just wandered around. But then I invented a new way of reading, so instead of moving my eyes from left to right, I sat back and rested my head on my comfy chair, and started to slightly move my head from left to right without moving my eyes. Now I read about 30-50 pages an hour! I'm a moron, so maybe you are too.
I have a similar problem, as you said these 'jittery' eyes. Idk why, but after like five minutes my eyes kind of loose focus and it's hard to regain controll, I usually can follow the lines, but the sharpness of my eyes are messed up.
I can't decide if I'm moronic like this Anon or I just need glases. Also I'm not diagnosed with any learning disability or something along those lines.
What percentage of the information contained in those 300 pages do you actually interiorize? Reading for the sake of reading is an absolute waste of time.
>he reads instead of getting the gist of books through IQfy conversations, then acting smug and condescending at anyone who isn't as "well-read" as him
Do you even into intellectualism?
I had always been insecure about my slow reading speed. That was why I started reading up on how to read faster, I would try to read 3 lines at a time, or skim page, very often I found myself just skipping it all together. Needless to say I didn't retain anything and reading become a chore and I had been doing it for years. Recently I started trying to read slowly and ponder about what I read, reading for me has become enjoyable again, now I'm really hopeful about what I can do with this ability.
I read like 30-50 pages per hour depending on the book and only ever read for about 2 hours per day max, if a book's really engaging. 300 pages would take me 6-10 hours.
I can only read posts on IQfy
My cap is 100 but I'm trying to get better.
I only have the time and attention span for about 20-40 pages a day, sorry anons
How do I get my attention span back? I want to read 100 a day.
there isn't a cure-all to getting your attention span back. you kind of just have to force yourself to read.
that would mean that you'd have to sit down and read for a long time. do you have time to read or the mental capacity to put away distractions?
>How do I get my attention span back

Same, although it varies by book.
Same I can only read about that much before I start feeling sleepy. When I started reading though I read 100 a day.
Why yes, I also like to read like a fricking automaton without spending a single second on reflection or dwelling on the things I've read.
This. Only a soulless autist is pushing so many pages a day.
I only read when I'm on the can (I read 500 pages per day)
I genuinely read at a pace of 0.5-1 pages per minute depending on how dense the material is. I don't know why I've been reading regularly since middle school
won't*
That's as moronic as saying "he can't do 300 push ups per day"

What if I'm not reading to savor a book, and instead reading to absorb knowledge of the written word so I can, one day, write a book of my own?
The knowledge is in the savoring dummy
I think the brain is capable of absorbing information either way. It's a pretty great tool.
>t. hylic
Seething pagan
>can only read 20 pages a day, if that
pardon, my eyes ain't what they used to be
yes
i have a job
In 2023 you have to be a literal subhuman to work, it's literally fricking easy to get rich.
elaborate
>fricking easy to get rich.
yes if you scam your way out of it. Become a NFTBlack person or a cryptoisraelite

Not everyones reading list peaked with Harry Potter
I can but I have responsibilities. You can probably do a lot of things but the problem is time, man.
Depends a lot on the book. I can read 300 pages of Dan Brown in an hour. But 300 pages of Twain? Half a year.
I've read an entire 500+ page book in under 24 hours. Kinda sucked, wouldn't recommend doing it unless you find the book super engrossing or whatever.
50 pages, 100 pushups, 10000 steps, every day. Best to keep it varied.
>he does not periodize but just does 100 pushups a day
moron
200 pages, 20 push up, 1000 steps.
I do not work and read only Japanese literature(manga)

What percentage of the information contained in those 300 pages do you actually interiorize? Reading for the sake of reading is an absolute waste of time.
99%
also, 300 pages is like an hour of reading
Ok, now reply again but seriously.
>Can't take a joke
Come on dude...
He took it, it just wasn't funny or creative
>he reads instead of getting the gist of books through IQfy conversations, then acting smug and condescending at anyone who isn't as "well-read" as him
Do you even into intellectualism?
But I can read 3000 posts on IQfy. Match that homosexual
I can do 450-500 a day if morning to night, but I got a mortgage nga.
>puts on themed restaurant mascot costume
>he can't even read 20 pages per day
>nor 20 books in general.
Shut up you dumb roastie! Stupid little bawds like you don’t even read books!
She probably reads more than the larps on here
How do you know?
Nice necklace and pose, you dumb little prostitute. NOW SHOW breasts OR GTFO!
I don't count the pages
HOOOOOLY
It's just a rough estimate, bro.
i read like a page per minute, i like pacing how i read and properly digesting what i come across.
I can, I'd just rather spend my time fricking and living life instead.
Only if it's fiction from tom Clancy
I read every thread on IQfy but not my Bible because IQfy is stranger than the Bible
if you only read meaningless novels then yes, you can read 300 pages a day, there's nothing impressive about that.
WHY does it take me so long to read? It takes me an entire day to read a 60 page novella.
I've been binge drinking for weeks straight. I don't want to live. Leave me alone.
I had always been insecure about my slow reading speed. That was why I started reading up on how to read faster, I would try to read 3 lines at a time, or skim page, very often I found myself just skipping it all together. I usually take 2-4 min to read a page but I usually don't take in anything cause I keep day dreaming about myself
>He doesn't finish the book in a single session, regardless of the length of the book or required reading time.
Why would you read 100 or 400 pages per day? Quantity does not equal quality.
I'll run out of books to read that fast dumbass
I read Wuthering Heights in one sitting for my high school English class and hated it.
Stimulants, anon. You could be reading 3,000 pages a day.
Do any anons here actually have the same mindset towards reading as /ic/ crabs grinding endless geometric shapes and mannequins?
I read 45 pages an hour, so that would entail that I'd have to read for 6 hours a day. I think reading for 2 hours a day is more than enough
>he can't get a job
And here I was thinking my slow reading speed was caused by being ESL. What a relief.
I don't read
You're just like 95% of people then, congratulations
I read 600 pages a day but every page only has 1 letter and its the same word 100 times.
