Hear me out, guys. We all know that racoons are pretty smart and have very agile hands.

Hear me out, guys. We all know that racoons are pretty smart and have very agile hands. But we have to take them to the next level.
I propose that we build a an environment for racoons that puts massive pressure onto evolving in direction of gaining sentience.
focus on becoming smarter, larger, more social and bipedal.
we should have large sentient racoons in like 100 years

anon it's took hominids millions of years to go from gesture based communication to vocal based. you are starting with a species that can't even do the first one. you are not doing that in 100 years.

I have now investigated raccoon origins and it is essentially a bear

uhhhh nugga just clone a big titty asian girl and graft on the genetics for raccoon ears and tail
We actually already know how to do that today and the amount of time it'll take to artificially select and breed that into existence is the same time it'll take you to afford cloning and dna editing.

Seems kind of immoral to give a human being horrific deformities so you can turn them into a sex object.

But the other way is ok? to deform the animals into humans?
Morality is a spook dumbass. It's just an excuse for the upper class to rape us. First it was the church and now it's the same cult with a new hat.

I never said it was ok to deform animals into humans, moron. What is this new cult you are referring to? I was just saying it's wrong to give a person useless deformities that they would have to live with for the rest of their life.

Coons eat trash. They are evolving in a way to adapt to human environments.
I’m just joking, scientists aren’t 100% sure why they wet their food before eating it.

This will never happen because ~~*they*~~ are fundamentally against recognizing the importance of genetics and hate natural/artificial selection with a passion. They literally believe that all races are equal. An inch of disagreement means that you are a Nazi to them.

imagine gaining sentience in a world and a labaratory were another conscientious lifeform dominates everything.
You have no culture, you have no history, you have no family.
I mean I'm still in favor of it because selectively breeding another sentient lifeform would be huge and humans would finally have someone else to confide in on the cosmic scale, but the ethics and actual ways you go about it seem quite muddy.

I feel like a sentient racoon would be a really good comedian.
Also they can do a lot of jobs that require small space access.
