So let me get this straight. You think the heater element is hot enough to focus that much heat down to the tip, yet somehow not have the rest of the tip or the end of the barrel glowing red hot, and also not burn the frick out of the nickel plating on the upper part of the tip?
I don't think I've implied anything about what heated the tip to that temperature (could've been a blowtorch for all I care) but it's pretty clear to me that it's glowing.

Which would make your implication that the iron is trash because of it's tip temperature moot, becuase it would not be the fault of the iron. Go shitpost elsewhere.

not OP homosexual but you Black folk are still wrong
And? 10 seconds with some brass wool and it's perfectly usable.
Why the frick are you even on a technology board?
The tip is glowing red hot you dullard.
I have a soldering iron that actually glows red and it doesn't look that that
it's clearly just red iron oxide
Iron oxide doesn't look like that. You can also see the slight discoloring further up the tip that happens before metal begins to glow.
How much heat do you think metal requires to start emitting light?

Are you an Apple user?

get some weller tips and never have this issue again
I almost exclusively run my 936 at max temperature and its been years since I had to change the tip
What are you soldering at 800+ degrees?
I've used worse irons, garbage tier butane irons levels of bad, what's wrong with that one?
I used to use an old ten dollar Weller and a rheostat. did some good soldering with those bag boys
I like how you comment on this little untidy iron but at the same time you seem to be perfectly chill with dude's fancy safety sandals.
>I want to use an iron but don't know how to clean it
Stop being so scared of burning yourself and clean that shit.
here's your irn bru
who is he?
what's that no cap?
