I could get better jobs with less requirements
Apparently they need more requirements, I tried to use their shitty mobile app when I was wasted and it bugged out every time.
>Extensive programming experience with Swift
The language is under a decade old, even the authors don't have "extensive" experience with it.
how many job descriptions have you seen
they will ask for 10 years experience in something that was invented yesterday
I know, anon, I'm just complaining about it.
fricking get a dictionary bro, extensive doesn't have any mention of a time frame, just know what you're doing
stop acting like swift some new age language
HR Makes these, therefore you need to lie on your resume to bypass the HR bullshit lmao
What do I do if I refuse to lie? I try to be a moral person and I wouldn't be able to accept getting a job if I lied or even bent the truth. Is my only choice to become a monk?
>What do I do if I refuse to lie
Effective lying is unironially one of the most useful skills for surviving in modern society. If you can't lie then you either need to be self-employed or be friends with someone who is equally moral, or NEET/monk, there's no other option
I'm especially not lying in writing on a resume or something, that would be too much.
How much of this bullshit requirements are there to filter out pajeets that straight out lie on their resume?
You're too innocent, anon. Unfortunately the chances are that whoever is going to take that job have lied on their resume as well.
Don't ask me how we reached this point in society that we have to straight out lie on our skill to get a job because I don't fricking know.
t. embedded dev with 5+ years of experience currently employed, but hired by lying about its expert knowledge on C/++ (I had only 1 year in HS about that language)
Why would anybody with that kind of experience apply for an internship? Pay information isn’t even provided.
nowhere on the posting does it say internship except for "5 years of non-internship experience"
>we want a god tier engineer
>for an internship
sure, this is just another way of saying "we don't want to hire any white people because they are too expensive, but we are required to first attempt to do so before we can hire pajeets for minimum wage"
I wonder if Indeed categorized it as an internship because the job requirements have “internship” in it, even if it says non-internship experience. Crappy algorithm.
Holy digits
Nice digits
This and checked.
That could very well be the case. No one with that level of expertise is going to submit a job application for an internship position, at McDonald of all places.
the position is for a sde 3, not an intern
>Pay
You're the one supposed to pay for the privilege of getting an internship
>Interning at fricking McDonalds
I don't get you murricans and your internship. Why the frick would anyone ever work for free?
Experience.
Yeah, well I got paid and got experience at the same time. Imagine that!
The HR roasties don't hire us unless we have existing experience, so we're forced to start out working for free.
Got my first interview by unironically going up to the manager, dressed in a suit jacket, gave him a firm handshake, looked him straight in the eye and asked him what he could offer me. Not joking.
how did you meet the manager?
At a job fair over at my university.
Civilised countries have laws stating that any work done that the company will use must be paid for.
>Civilised countries
It'd be too easy to say that US is not a civilized country, but ffs even here in Italy internship is required to be legally paid.
Granted the pay is shit (~500€/month) but its still better than 0.
what's the expected pay?
>what's the expected pay?
free burgers
On the one hand:
>SDE III
On the other:
>McDonalds
It's a Corporate job, not a Fast Food job.
Although their Finance side would probably be more interesting than Software - managing their Real Estate portfolio is probably more interesting than programming kiosks and phone apps.
>managing their Real Estate portfolio is probably more interesting than programming kiosks
programming kiosks would be enrapturement compared to the, uh, 'joys' of desktop jockeying endless bullshit for corporate real estate
What the frick is an SDIII honestly. It is all just bullshit terms that belong in a fricking RPG or video game. It gives off the vibe that promotions, titles etc. are like "level" that come with "experience" etc. and that people who reach a certain level "class change" or whatevs. In reality you can't categorize people like this. The only thing you should ask yourself when you hire some is: Can this person help us develop our product, and if so how. That's it. Some you invest in, some you want to plug and play. But I would never fricking hire anyone expecting "complex solutions to simple problems", I would hire someone expecting good solutions to fricking complex problems. And pay them depending on their results.
SDIII, what a fricking joke.
>What the frick is an SDIII honestly.
a meme. you can't expect management and HR to have an original thought.
This is one of the biggest reasons why I'm transitioning into management and aiming for the CEO position. I fricking hate this brainrot and I'm going to be fricking better than anyone else.
If you rub your last two brain cells together to produce a worthwhile thought, you'd figure out that SDE III stands for "Software Development Engineer 3". This is by no means an internship position and OP is lying through his teeth.
software engineering isn't real
I know what it fricking stands for. I wonder what the frick it is and what value that term brings.
If only companies could come up with a worthwhile thought, as opposed to aping whatever process, hierarchy and job titles Facebook has at the moment and producing notoriously poor software.
The III means nothing, it's bullshit to make idiots feel like they're making progress as they waste their life in a cubicle.
It tells you how much you get paid
And why should it! That is part of what I don't fricking get! These "classes" are incredibly stupid. I've organized my minions in a completely different way, and I don't divide them into roles. As manager I'm always open for people who want to work with me on other overarching stuff, or want to learn something or participate in something. And if you don't that is also completely fine.
I've seen what this type of divide does.
Was unfortunately working in a SAFe organization earlier. Had a guy who was doing architect work. No one else was architecting that part, or even could. He was extremely important for us, and for him to be able to do his job properly he needed to get info about other parts of the product, you know, like architects need. Luckily then that the architects did gather up in a big group and talk about that stuff. Unlucky for everyone that he didn't have the role of architect, and the head architect was a stickler for SAFe rules. So banned from the forum he was. Everyone of us was depending on him being able to do his work, which the head architect banned him from being able to do. And the funny thing is that both of those guys were on the same fricking team!
There is something about large organizations that attract bureaucratic parasites who know nothing but how to suck the life out of everyone around them.
>""""""""""there's a labor shortage"""""""""""""
There is at the low end. If you applied to become a line cook instead of SDE you'd get the job pretty easily.
You're supposed to lie on job applications and in interviews. It's a feature, not a bug.
It's just a way to get away with not hiring autists without technically breaking discrimination laws.
You mean Capgemini isn’t going to frick up iOS? They fricked up ordering the other day.
Curry for the win.
We unironically need to go back to when all it took to get a chance was a firm handshake. HR has done nothing by destroy companies, and managers are too fricking scared nowadays to actually take some fricking responsibility for anything. When I'm CEO I'm going to fricking change how things are running. And I'll reject every single one of you frickers because you have a limp handshake from all the blowjobs you've given to the wrong people for internships
I would suck dick for a decent job no problem at all and with no hesitation. I think this is a meme and nobody actually does it. If they do, how do I find somebody who would be open to this arrangement?
I'm 6'4 and 400 pounds of strongfat bloatlord. My handshake would destroy you.
I may hire you
>managers are too fricking scared
more like they don't give a shit they will get the bonus + promotion anyway.
How can you demand 5+ years experience, extensive knowledge in a language released in 2014, deep knowledge of APIs and shit AND a degree for an internship?
it sort of goes like this:
> globohomosexual corporation advertises job
> job is actually internship but still counts as part of employment figures for gov
> globohomosexual corporation makes job ad completely unreasonable, attracting very few applicants
> globohomosexual corporation goes to government and cries, demanding they allow foreign workers to come into the country to work for them. nobody in america wants to work! etc.
> government says yeah, wtf i don't care. sure.
the race to the bottom isn't a fun ride but is hilarious to watch.
>> government says yeah, wtf i don't care. sure.
they literally do care though, libs get to whine about racism and cuckservatives get to whine about national security
>Chicago
Is that city safe? Unironically.
Do I get free burgers with it?
no
Then get a second job, you lazy bum.
> mcdonalds know that their one job just isn't enough to survive off of
the absolute state of amerilards.
>150k/yr
Sounds fair
Clearly the dollarino is devalued to oblivion
sir, I have contributed to hundred of open source projects by editing the readme files
>here's your internship
>too stupid to read it's an actual job and they want non internship moron experience
>Intern at McDonalds
>Serving burgers burgers for free
Maybe they finally canned whoever had been maintaining their app because it was full of error and vulnerabilities.
SIR! Do not, I repeat, do not accuse others of not doing the needful!
