South asia and the indian sub continent for example have similar development and economic levels but outside of homicide rates those areas have way worse stats
It's probably genetic. Look at West Meds in Europe. They have higher life expectancy than northerners.
But what about the areas in mexico, Bolivia, Peru and central america with big native populations? They are genetically very similar to siberians and those have a lower life expectancy. Maybe it's cold but Bolivia and Peru arguably live in worse environments were the altitude makes the places cold and with low oxigen.
Latin America are in many ways so close to being literal first world westerners but also so, so far away at the same time.
