I'm functional. I have a job and a few hobbies. But I feel my mind slowly slipping after a month or two, after which I drink to excess and get sober for another month or two. I took a personality disorder test. Schizoid, antisocial and avoidant personality disorders were high. Recommend good books to piece together my broken brain.

Most well functioning adults need the occasional drunk and making it two months between drunks is probably better than average. I find the trick is to learn not to try and ease into the drunk and spread it out, just commit to the drunk from the start and get it over in a day or two.

Nothing I said is against growth, just acknowledges that sometimes people need to forget their life for a few hours and that can be difficult to do if not impossible without some help. Getting drunk a few times a year is not going to destroy your life life unless that is what you really want.

Also, try to make some friends. Somehow. It can be so difficult but it's the only way to avoid disintegrating as a person.

I'm researching this topic. The only real way to grow the brain larger that I'm aware of is consistent aerobic exercise. Additionally you can try raising BDNF and NGF. Lion's mane does that. Intranasal Semax or similar noots will raise BDNF.
But ultimately neurogenesis only seems to effect a few known areas on the brain whereas exercise has been proven to grow the entire thing. So in short just exercise

that approach of using booze or 420 to wipe brain clean is a common symptom
