How long should it take to read a book?

How long should it take me to read a learning book that is about 300 pages long? I'm talking about books like math, grammar, programming, business, etc (not novels). I mean practical books. Sometimes I think I'm moronic for taking me 4 months to read books like that and then I hear that people read books in much less. What can I do to improve?

*I have read mortimer addler but he doesn't really give a time estimate.

        >I wanted to know if it's normal
        Why?
If anything, you're not normal. You're posting on IQfy.

doesn't matter, as long as you read steadily and regularly and don't drop it

a good book takes re-reads to comprehend the content, let alone remember it

1 month. And then you should spend a year trying to make it work for you.

How much time do you spend reading daily to read a book in a month? (a practical or a theoretical book)

I assume you have other things to do, so I would not try to binge this. Try to pin down what period the different sections correspond to or something. Alternatively, consider my book,

At this point why would you read? You're saying it takes you 120 days to read a 300 page book, and there's easily many other ways to absorb information on these topics. An audiobook at least takes the same amount of time for everyone to "read". You can finish in as much or as little time as you want.

As long as you want. Everyone reads differently. Just fricking read. Actively read. Understand what's written on the page rather than just zooming past the words. If you zone out reread the page you're on. If you don't understand it, reread it as many times until you get it. If all else fails ask ChatGPT to explain what just happened in the page/paragraph.

You read and study a textbook until you can confidently recall and apply the book’s most important concepts. Then, periodically, you will read the book again to freshen up your memory of the material. Alternatively, you read a similar book about the same topic but with greater depth to practice what you’ve already learned

anon you should take as much time as you need to read don't worry how fast or slow others are reading if they read a book super fast how much are they really remembering from it/learning from it? you take as long as you need

This web gives you an estimation in hours for any given book but you need to know how many words per minute you read on average. It sets 250 wpm as default but maybe that's a little too generous if you're making this thread.
