    >How the frick did ALL the dinosaurs became extinct?
    They didn't. Chickens are dinosaurs.
    >How come ALL the water dinosaurs disappear when river fishes, deep ocean fishes, and even sharks managed to survive?
Bold of you to assume that a metric shitton of those haven't gone extinct either.

Also dinosaurs, and by extension chickens, are fishes.

Bro, I know the chickens are dinosaurs, the turtles are dinosaurs, mammals are dinosaurs. Everyone knows this. Why did specifically these 3 clades survive and not the great number of dinosaurs that reigned the Earth as mammals do now?

      >Metric shitton of those
Well they are still around, sharks are still around and they had the same features of the water dinosaur. Whales are going extinct now because of overhunt but they had the whole seas for them as the sea dinosaurs did, as the sharks ever had.

        >the turtles are dinosaurs, mammals are dinosaurs
        They aren't.
        >Whales are going extinct now
        Most aren't

    >How come other smaller types of dinosaur did not survive?
They did, they became birds (who are behaviorally and phenotypically closer to dinosaurs than most people expect).

They did not "become birds" you moron. Birds are twice as old a clade as T-Rex. Birds first appeared 130 million years ago. T-Rex less than 70 million.
Two bird species are the only members of the lineage dinosauria that survived, is all.

Birds are still not dinosaurs, though. Birds are not fish. Humans are not fish. Insects are not crustaceans. Animals are not sponges. This terminology makes zero sense.

        >Birds are still not dinosaurs, though
Yes they are. They are dinosaurs in the same way a human is a mammal, not in the way a human is a fish

          >They are dinosaurs in the same way a human is a mammal, not in the way a human is a fish
You have to explain that further. According to monophyletic nomenclature, there was once both an ur-"mammal" that is the primogenitor of all mammals, as well as an ur-"fish", that is the primogenitor of all fish (and tetrapods, like mammals).
As such, humans are both mammals and fish in the same sense.
According to classical nomenclature, calling humans fish is senseless because classic nomenclature is paraphyletic and has the stance
          >child branches can cease being referred with the same moniker as the stem branch
          Also classic nomenclature maintains
          >the ur-"fish"/ur-"mammal" need not be considered a fish/mammal to begin with.

(Note that we are discussing nomenclature; obviously no one disputes humans descend from fish, but its senseless calling them "fish". Likewise, birds descend from dinosaurs, but in most cases it's senseless calling them "dinosaurs", because "dinosaurs" is useful to refer to an extinct group of reptiles).

It’s senseless calling humans fish, but that is not equivalent to calling birds dinosaurs. It would be more equivalent to calling humans mammals as said before
            >picrel
Whoever made that is moronic. Calling birds dinosaurs is in no way comparable to calling humans marsupials, in the first one is at least descended from the other while in the latter they are entirely separate branches. The penguins/ichthyosaurs part is even more mind bogglingly stupid

Birds are reptiles, Humans are reptiles, turtles are reptiles, reptiles are reptiles, fish are frogs and so are all of the above, sharks are sharks. Animals are fungi, plants are parasites.

        >Insects are not crustaceans
Yes, they are. Insect wings are modified gills. Fricking sea monkeys are their closest relatives.

      >they became birds
Fricking moron. One dinosaur who was a bird made the rest of birds. The other dinosaurs that were not birds, which included those who lived on tundra, those who lived on sea, those who had the same same size of their bird cousins and ran around fricking things up, but all were genocided and the bird ones spared. Animals can't just become other animals whenever they fricking want.

Anyway, dinosaurs had feathers is old and busted. Pterosaurs had feathers is the new hotness.

      >physical similarities remain
      Saurischian aren't originally bird-hipped. They're called "lizard-hipped" for a reason.

      >bipedal to fly
You don't need to be bipedal to fly. Most things that fly are not bipedal. Birds are literally the only bipedal fliers and not all of them can even fly.

      >humans are marsupials because they aren't platypuses
Placental mammals didn't evolve from marsupials

      >it is not a fish or a lizard
      It's both
