if you want to say you found a cache of weapons you can pronounce it like caché, but that's optional

I would say I found a stash of weapons. What the frick is a cache of warpons?

Basically same meaning, cache kind of implies that you left it there for future uses, it sounds a bit more secretive. In the news they will say "police discovered a cache of weapons in an abandoned warehouse" like somebody was hiding it there, they cached it.

I get it what with the git stash command

stash makes more sense in that context because "cache" has a special, more specific meaning in technology. Usually cache files are temporary and ok to delete to save space.

frickin moron that would be cachet, an entirely different word with an entirely different meaning. A hidden cache is still pronounced "cash".

It's a French word, so try to add "le" before it and do some hand gestures. Then the correct pronunciation will come naturally.

A lot of English words came from French. Norman conquest and whatnot. Modern English is like half French, most Latin words came through French. So we got a lot of their pronunciations.

Checked, but: many words may have come from French, but I doubt about the pronunciations.
French language has only one vowel sound (somewhere between "o" and "e") and the rest is just gurgling and spitting.

Language is descriptive, not prescriptive. If you want to pronounce it "car-shee" you're free to do so. If it catches on and lots of people start saying "car-shee" then the people who compile the dictionaries will be forced to recognise that as a valid pronunciation. It's important to remember that there are no rules on this earth aside from the ones we choose to follow.
