yoga for that really why is intel so fricking greedy? Quite similar to AMD's embedded chips for no reason they all cost >400
Are you gay? Intel N100 cpu is the expensive part here.

You can get N100 based soft router systems for less than 200bux bro, people have been snapping up the N100 + 2.5GBe mini pcs for OpnSense and Nas builds

Not saying you should buy it, I'm pointing out that the N100 is not the expensive part.
I'm also hunting for a small device to use in commute.
They seem to have 2 issues:
weird screen refresh rate of 50hz, any emulation or videos will look bad
very bad or no Linux support.
Very short battery live compared to old Core m or Atom cpus.
And they're expensive for what they can do. Myself I'm looking into cheap android tablet with termux.
but if anyone knows any new models or cheap ones I'm with op.
They have AVX2 so at least they're not as bad as a 2500K BUT the graphics suck donkey dick.
Steam deck would be better IMHO.
Small price to pay for 10X better graphics perf.
[...]
LMFAO, this is a complete fricking joke compared to a steam deck. I was expecting like $200 MAXIMUM.
honestly parting up a steam deck and building a new enclose with a keyboard might be the play. maid computer based on existing common and cheap hardware instead of mystery meat. works on 2 seperate protocols, semi decent battery life. the only way you could need more is if you want even moar battery life.
to the best of my knowledge there are no keyboard mounts at all, even with samsmugs "DEX", imagine touting dex but you dont have a keyboard case for any of your devices.,
then POST one.
honestly though either way its still too big. I am looking at the winmax GPD 2 and its still 10 inches as well. the sweet spot really is thinner than that and yet the smaller GPD formfactors keyboard is unusable looking. I'd really need to do a custom lcd keyboard or try one in person to know if it's usable but I really suspect not.

https://a.co/d/2ezA8Ln for the S9. Yes, it's expensive, no, I don't know how it is. I just use the official keyboard because I got mine for free with the thing.
I don't know if there even is anything that'll fit what you're looking for, which is a shame because I've been interested in a tiny laptop for a while.

well in my case I want a maid computer for maid posting ala that homosexual eli.
something closer to a plus sized phone that can be typed on without setting it down is the most ideal form factor to me, beyond that battery life needs to be present. maybe if I get a fold this will all become moot anyway with moonlight
The N100 is nearly identical in performance to an i5 4570, and with fast enough memory it’s decent enough on its own. It’s just the igpu holds it back heavily. Using one of the N100 desktop boards and adding a GPU, and in context of it being like a haswell quadcore, it’ll hold up with like a 6gb 1060 and play games well enough.
With the igpu though it’s very limiting in regards to its graphical capability. If you’re doing stuff mostly cpu bound, it’s a great choice. Otherwise nah.
I love mine but I don't use it for personal computing, I use it as a home server. I have a couple high capacity HDDs connected to it and use it for self-hosting a few handy things such as PrivateBin, memos, Plex, and a file server. Works great.
Look, I don't know what to tell you.
The thing pictured in OP is not a device made my Intel and is made by some Chinese no-name brand nobody has ever heard of, the real Intel PCs are the NUCs and stuff, they don't include keyboards or LCDs or batteries in them.
Just because something has an Intel CPU does not mean the whole system is safe. Gotta ask yourself, who's making the motherboard? What about the rest of the system?
In this case, it's all chinesium straight from China, from brands nobody knows.
i really wanna try out a gpd win mini. it seems like the most versatile handheld pc besides the legion go. the built in keyboard is sweet even though the trackpad looks in an odd position. not sure if its worth having the built in keyboard for an oddly placed trackpad.
I think they're neat, but the price is inexcusable for something which I would just have as a backup or rare mobile use. posting from my 10" lenovo 100e I bought for less than $50.
How cheap are we talking about?
Around 495 Dollars for the model with stylus, N100 and 12GB of RAM.
Huh, those became quite expensive. I remember them being much cheaper than that when I considered buying one a few months ago.
What do you mean? It's the same as GPD MicroPC. Pocket3 is much more expensive.

the intended market will pay it readily
400 Dollars for a new laptop is too much for you "IT Proffesionals"?
>refuse to buy overpriced garbage
>nooo! you are le poor!!!1!
Everytime with these shills. Fricking lol
It's the cheaper option. GPD products are much more expensive.
ayo wtf???
this shit should be $120 max and even then that shit would be overpriced

I own GPD MicroPC 1st gen but it's too slow in 2024.

probably closer to 20x graphics perf
honestly parting up a steam deck and building a new enclose with a keyboard might be the play. maid computer based on existing common and cheap hardware instead of mystery meat. works on 2 seperate protocols, semi decent battery life. the only way you could need more is if you want even moar battery life.
2500k is all you need.
Phone CPU, literal toy. Buy a REAL cpu.
The N100 completely shits on the 2500k at just 6W you dumb moron
At loading instagram? Top kek it's a toy CPU you can't even overclock it.
literally just buy a large android phone or tablet
there are probably keyboard mounts like the ipads
to the best of my knowledge there are no keyboard mounts at all, even with samsmugs "DEX", imagine touting dex but you dont have a keyboard case for any of your devices.,
s9 ultra tab comes with one
>s9 ultra tab
that is a fricking surface clone flexible keyboard cover, not a rigid keyboard case.
unless it literally has a hinge please frick off.
I've seen imitations of Apple's Magic Keyboard or whatever it's called for the Galaxy S tablets
then POST one.

Pretty unusable. Small form factors and keyboards are not very compatible. Just get a cheap 13" laptop and be done with it.
>low power server with built-in UPS
china numba won

I don't need G'U to use Putty and SSH. RAM is DDR5.
Are those Atom cpu? Wouldn't touch even with a 10ft pole
see
Why would you think comparing something to a cpu launched 13 years ago is a good thing?
I love mine but I don't use it for personal computing, I use it as a home server. I have a couple high capacity HDDs connected to it and use it for self-hosting a few handy things such as PrivateBin, memos, Plex, and a file server. Works great.
Get a t480, they're like 130$
It's 14 inch, not 8 inch. See the difference?
Oh yes, the t480 is 14 inch and it costs less. You get more for less, it's a bargain
I own a T580. I need something SMALL to take to the mountains.
Frick you and your mountain sojourn.
You can watch YouTube on them, or watch Netflix.
Wouldn't use for anything sensitive.
They're cheap Chinese spy devices.
How will Intel CPU spy for China?
Look, I don't know what to tell you.

Can't even write code with this keyboard. Into the trash it goes.
Do you code on your phone?
Of course not, I use my N100 mini pc for coding.
id rather a legion go and one of those little phone bluetooth keyboards so its actually useable for everything.
i really wanna try out a gpd win mini. it seems like the most versatile handheld pc besides the legion go. the built in keyboard is sweet even though the trackpad looks in an odd position. not sure if its worth having the built in keyboard for an oddly placed trackpad.
I had war flashbacks from that form factor
What's wrong with it?
I think they're neat, but the price is inexcusable for something which I would just have as a backup or rare mobile use. posting from my 10" lenovo 100e I bought for less than $50.
