You're on IQfy and I am almost without a doubt certain you used slur words to sound edgier than you truly are but look down at drug users?
if this isn't the epitome of irony, I don't know what is.

happy endings only happen with sex workers forced against their will to pleasure lazy men.
    there is no happy ending.
Eden didn't end happily for Adam and Eve
Heaven didn't end happily for the Adversary and his legion
Death isn't even a happy ending for most who meet him don't appreciate the role he plays in the grand scheme.
the only happy ending, if it can be considered as such, is the ending which grants mankind more time to chase after an unattainable goal

And then the rat woke up, realizing that all this was a strange dream, far beyond his comprehension. A cat ate the rat before he could go back to sleep.

Started this shitty book a week ago. First time that I consider dropping a book. Like its literally the definition of gibberish sci fi words formed to scentences. Plot is boring asf, its super dated and yeah it has shit prose do to it being the lowest tier of genre fiction.

well given its influence on current sci-fi and in specific Cyberpunk culture and books I'd say your review is that of someone who has a personal opinion and isn't representative of the greater number of people who have read and enjoyed the title.

It’s like reading French philosophers. It starts as gibberish but as you build up context clues it all starts to fit together and you start to understand what the frick they’re talking about.

        do you speak French?
if not then your opinion is definitely trash tier projection

And all the useless people were rounded up and, through the miracle of hydrothermal liquefaction, were turned into crude oil, and went out the tailpipes of many vehicles in the form of exhaust, and thus finally did something useful in this world. The crime rate plummeted and everyone was happy all the scumbags were dead. The end.

Didn't Case pretty much get a happy ending?
Got his nervous system fixed, found a family, didn't get involved in the sequels.

I think the fun part about Mona's POV chapters is that you can tell how fricking stupid she is just by seeing the world through her eyes.

In the world of cyberpunk, where dystopian societies, advanced technology, and gritty narratives typically prevail, finding a happy ending may seem unlikely. However, there are some cyberpunk stories that manage to provide a glimmer of hope amid the darkness.

For instance, in the video game "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," the protagonist, Adam Jensen, uncovers a global conspiracy involving a biochip technology that grants enhanced abilities but also controls the user's thoughts. The game offers players the opportunity to make choices that can lead to a more optimistic outcome. By exposing the truth and rallying allies, Jensen can bring down the corrupt organizations and potentially save humanity from the tyranny of the technology. This can be seen as a happy ending as the main character's efforts lead to justice prevailing and a brighter future.

Another example of a potential happy ending in cyberpunk can be found in the manga and anime series "Ghost in the Shell." While the world is rife with cybernetic enhancements, artificial intelligence, and moral dilemmas, the overarching themes of identity, consciousness, and the embrace of humanity persist. In some versions of the story, the protagonist, Major Motoko Kusanagi, is able to reconcile her existence as a fully cybernetic being with her desire for human connection, providing a sense of fulfillment and happiness.

These examples demonstrate that even in a cyberpunk setting, where the line between humans and machines is blurred and corruption runs rampant, there is still room for individual agency, justice, and the pursuit of happiness. While the traditional notion of a straightforward, everyone-lives-happily-ever-after ending may be uncommon, cyberpunk can offer moments of redemption, personal growth, and societal change that provide a semblance of happiness amidst the chaos.

In the sprawling neon-lit metropolis of New Vertigo, where technology and corruption intertwined seamlessly, a young woman named Nova fought tirelessly to survive in this dystopian world. With a data port embedded into her wrist, she was a skilled hacker, manipulating code and cyberspace to keep herself afloat.

One fateful evening, Nova stumbled upon a secret conspiracy involving a powerful megacorporation known as CyberCorp. Their plan was to monopolize the city's resources, leaving its inhabitants without hope or choice. As she delved deeper into the labyrinthine digital network, she discovered she was not alone in her quest for justice.

In the darkest corners of cyberspace, Nova encountered a mysterious and enigmatic hacker named Echo. The duo joined forces, working to unveil the truth behind CyberCorp's nefarious schemes. Together, they hatched a plan to expose their misdeeds to the world, knowing that their actions would place their lives in constant peril.

As they prepared their grand revelation, Nova and Echo found strength in each other, fueling a deep connection that transcended the digital realm. Their shared passion for justice and determination to restore hope in New Vertigo drove them forward.

At last, the day arrived when Nova and Echo would confront the all-encompassing power of CyberCorp. With their combined brilliant minds, they executed a masterful hack, transmitting irrefutable evidence of the corporation's corruption to every citizen in the city. The revelation ignited a spark in the hearts of the people, uniting them against the oppressors.

In the ensuing chaos, Nova and Echo fought side-by-side, facing down CyberCorp's formidable security forces. Their skills and prowess in cyberspace were unmatched. As they stood amidst the mayhem, Nova and Echo realized that their actions had inspired countless others to take a stand and fight for their freedom.

Finally, victory was in sight. With the megacorporation crippled and exposed, the people of New Vertigo rose up, demanding change and accountability. The city, once shrouded in darkness, now had a glimmer of hope—a chance at a brighter future.

Amidst the triumphant chaos, Nova and Echo found solace in each other's arms. Their tireless efforts and unwavering determination had brought about a happy ending, not just for themselves but for the entire city. As they embraced, the neon lights of New Vertigo painted the night sky, and the ghost of oppression faded into a distant memory.
