I did it lads.

I did it lads. graduated college with a chad computer engineering degree, and got straight into a six figure software dev job. now I have five months of self paced training, still getting my full pay all the while. we're all gonna make it.

I haven't gotten it mailed in yet, I can look it up virtually but that stuff can be easily faked regardless. I'll still find it though for you

yeah they haven't even started shipping out the diplomas yet, but that may just be cause my uni was so shit. the online one on my transcript is literally just plaintext, not even something nice i could send.
i'm not looking to show off here, but to tell all my fellow undergrads and recent grads that it's definitely possible to /make it/.

I liked your short piece of fiction anon, just a few comments:

    >I did it lads. graduated college with a chad computer engineering degree,
    The term is Computer Science

    >and got straight into a six figure software dev job.
I frankly doubt this. why? You use the words but you don't know what they mean.
There is no such thing as "software dev." The correct phrase, which you failed to use, is "writing software," or, if you're feeling terse, "programming."

You use the words but don't know what they mean. That's how I know your story is a story.

    > now I have five months of self paced training, still getting my full pay all the while.
Like I said in the beginning, nice piece of fiction, with a nice ending.

How does a 35 yo bartender with no experience get into this industry? Tired of nightlife and want a career

          By experimenting on your own.
Unless you have a passion that drives you forward, you are a tourist.

Zero passions. That’s why I’m asking. Don’t really want to be a loser for the rest of my life, and I keep getting spammed with YouTube videos of someone who manages to go from zero to six figure software engineer in months. I never see examples of such from any other industry

            What do I experiment on?

            >go from zero to six figure software engineer in months
a meme perpetrated to sell you courses and services and consume content.
Most of these people who go "after 5 months of learning I got a job" either held a degree in math, physics or engineering before starting meaning they both had credentials and had trained themselves on studying and thinking about abstract logical systems for many years before, or they may have had a very strong connection in the industry in some place.
I recommend you go to university.
