        >i did not expect this to be on audible
Most stuff's on there. I had a trial a while back and soft browsed it looking to spend my 1 sad credit and see what stuff I could pirare from the prime collection.

Audlble stuff generally comes in one of 2 basic flavous.
You got the low tier generic AI tier shit read by someone who doesn't care, bad chapter breakup etc, doesn't care and prob on prime.
Then you got the real audiobook tier.
Usually separated properly, narrator cares, has some degree of inflection too.

Audible's a minefield of trash for some stuff. If you want something popular, be prepared to look through 3 pages of Amazon advertised treash like you do when you're going to buy a HDMI cable...

I've found some great stuff on there free with subscription, but it was all written in the 50s-70s with the audiobook recorded pre-2005.

If you have time to listen to a Great Courses professor's verbal ticks, just listen to a real history book with a decent narrator instead.

Look into the BBC archives. I recommend Vivat Rex.

    >Richard Burton narrates this famous dramatic chronicle of the English Crown, a treasure of the BBC radio archive published on audible for the very first time.

    >Vivat Rex is the landmark drama series first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1977. Over the course of 26 instalments, each one narrated by Richard Burton with a full cast, the fortunes of the English Crown are followed through 225 years of British history, from Edward II’s accession in 1307 to the birth of Elizabeth I.

    >This first volume includes the first 13 instalments, beginning with John Hurt’s portrayal of Edward II. The stellar cast includes John Hurt, Paul Eddington, Keith Michell, Derek Jacobi, Michael Redgrave, Maureen O’Brien, Patrick Troughton, Timothy West, Robert Hardy, Martin Jarvis, Anthony Quayle, Robert Harris, Robert Powell, June Whitfield, Roy Dotrice, Billie Whitelaw and Colin Baker.

    >Each drama is adapted by Martin Jenkins from the works of Shakespeare, Marlowe and their Elizabethan contemporaries, and each includes a stirring musical score by Christopher Whelen. Also included in this collection are bonus interviews with Vivat Rex writer, producer and director, Martin Jenkins, studio manager Enyd Williams and actor Martin Jarvis, first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra.

American psycho if you like rape, gore, essays on 80s music and hate women, gays, the homeless
It by Stephen King has a good narrator, is pretty long so you get your credits worth, and is good easy listening for playing in the car on a long drive or mentally escaping during a run.
e-girlta if you like little girls, rape, little girl rape, tennis, actually fantastic literature and hate listening to audio books with other people.
