I have to move 2.7TB over USB 2 to my external hard disk. I don't want to wait that long. Should I just take the hard disk out of the plastic enclosure and hook it up internally?

Don't do that. The mismatch in rotational velocidensity will drastically increase the rate of bit rot.

      it's a hard disk and a controller/power interface inside a plastic casing

I owned one of these and moved the hard drive to the PC tower when the power components failed. A couple months later, the hard drive failed too. The case was extremely hard to open and ended up getting destroyed. These are cheap components. The israelites must have something against reliable external drives because I never used to have failures like this.

You don't have to entirely dismantle it depending on the model you can just pop the case open and run a SATA cable into it.

OK, but why did they have to make her boobs two sizes bigger when they made her 2D?

The hentai came first. They probably could find a actress with breasts that big.
But trust me Kazama Yumi's breasts are perfect, there is no need for anything bigger.

Yeah, I do that all the time. Not all motherboards support hotswap though, so you might need to reboot your pc.

A little over a day. I see your problem.
If you absolutely want to rule out damaging the drive, you could slap a USB 3.0 card into the machine - or bug a non-poor friend to loan you their laptop, and network the files over through the considerably-faster interface.

I figured out the pinout of these things a while back - there is a real SATA connector hidden in there:

Without DMA or even an Ethernet port, it's gonna be tough for it to tell Xiden and the entitled c**t your super-sekrit torrents that still have 10,000 seeds.

You can literally look up the datasheet of the ICs. 99% chance it's a dedicated PCIe-USB bridge IC.
