I just got this bad boy from a local thrift store for like $24 leafbux (like ~$18), it does turn on I tried it at the store, DVD was disconnected and it seems it works, and it seems it has a harddrive too.
I'm thinking to put an old sata SSD I have and install vsphere, any suggestions?

If it's a 3TB Seagate, congratulations. You are now in possession of the worst drive run of all time for reliability and durability.

They can last, IDK how many have died but I know for a fact there are drives with 80-100k hours on them

I will use it as a home server. I'm sure some old lady threw it, it's a small thrift store full of old people and they are after clothes and knickknacks, electronics are overlooked
