I know there are websites dedicated to posting fan-fics.

I know there are websites dedicated to posting fan-fics. But Does anyone know of any sites/forums where I can share my novel for free with people chapter-by-chapter?

It's finished, I just want to share it with people.

      Yes

Yes, it seems perhaps I have made an error in judgement. I just don't want to shit up the board with chapters from my thing, and potentially kill another thread in the process.

However, now, in retrospect - that's exactly what this post is. I'm very sorry.

not op, would trash really be the place for it? i'm in a similar position and my book is also something that i probably couldn't even self publish (forget here, IQfy would laugh me out of the room)

        ???
why do you care so much about the opinion of the lowest hanging fruit of society?

Just do it here, give yourself some credit. We're only slightly above in respectability.

it's a book about coming to grips with pedophillic schizophrenia brought on by the hypermodern digital age filtered through an urban fantasy setting that essentially makes it furry erotica, but written with a tone that would make it impossible to jerk off to unless you're as much of a masochist as i am

It's not nearly complete, I could put together what I have already but it'll be a schizophrenic mess of half-written bullshit

the board is already shit. good threads die everyday to make way for 'books for this feel?' threads. stop being so polite and conscientious or I will call you a homosexual. I am not kidding.

    OP here.

Thanks everyone. I hail mainly from /toy/ so the civil side of IQfy is not foreign to me, but I wasn't expecting the kind of support you all share with each other over here.

I'm going to clean up my work, package the first chapter into a PDF and post it here sometime.

    honestly it's a hard question
as you said fanfiction have a couple main websites (ao3 and ffnet) where you can easily reach a big userbase if you post there

For novels, I know https://www.fictionpress.com/ has been widely used, maybe less now than before, but there's definitely a userbase. I found out about https://neoread.neovel.io too while browsing, no idea about its quality though.
And of course share it on IQfy

You can post original fiction on AO3

Given the erotic nature of your work, AO3 would probably eat it up. If it's female-oriented, try WattPad. It sounds too adult for RoyalRoad, but maybe not for ScribbleHub. Also, if you're going to post a PDF of it, catbox.moe is a decent free hosting service.

I'm playing with formatting within my novel. Subtle font changes as the characters state of mind changes, Some words stylised and coloured like python script. (It's story relevant). A traditional Main Plot with a B plot, but also an epistolary style C plot told as in-lore quotes from people to break during chapter and scene breaks.

Do you think this will be too much of a headache for a reader? I feel like it fits my world and serves as a story telling mechanism in and of itself.

nah seems pretty basic tbh, you'd filter some normogays but i wouldn't have an issue following it
      post it when youre done

Glad to hear it. I know it's nowhere near as wild as a lot of other novels attempting a similar thing - but I haven't met many people who really has an informed opinion on them.
