I still can't comprehend why it was a good idea to remove poster count.

Great, a verifiable metric to show how shit a thread is, ripped right from us.
But what's that, uploading mp3s, for all the sound threads? Get out of here, people can slip CP in between the breaks.

There could be a variety of reasons why the decision was made to remove the poster count. One possible reason could be to promote a more inclusive and welcoming environment by shifting the focus away from numbers and stats. Additionally, removing the poster count could encourage more meaningful and thoughtful interactions rather than simply trying to increase one's post count. It's also possible that the platform or community felt that the poster count was not relevant or important in measuring a user's contributions or value to the community. Ultimately, the decision was likely made with the intention of improving the overall user experience and fostering a more positive and engaging community atmosphere.

This site is dead. I'm done. Hiro has killed this site with his own hands.

"Hiro" was a crisis actor. This site is run by the CIA and is gradually being wound down over the course of the year to stop it from interfering with the election again. There will be no repeat of 2016 when you chuds got a literal moron elected "for the lolz".

It's so that it's more advertiser friendly. This way they can bump threads while role-playing as anons and no one calling them out. Notice how you can't even say the N word here, otherwise it gets deleted and you get banned for racism, even though you're not directing it at anyone.
This is slowly killing at least IQfy. It is way slower now. Not just because of it, but also the timer to post and make threads and the infinite captchas that keep breaking. There's even no reason to use Cloudflare because there's no JS alternatives, but this one helps with tracking.
I still lurk, but less, and stopped posting a lot because I can't be bothered with waiting

My cynical assumption is that it's to make things more advertiser friendly. Not for the reasons that this guy is assuming because that's all small time; nobody gives a shit if people are calling out samegays. The real purpose of hiding the ID is so that advertisers don't know how few people are actually using the website. It's removing a verifiable statistic so that you can now claim that everything is fine unopposed. Because previously, you could claim that any number of people visited IQfy, and then any advertiser worth their salt could take those poster numbers and determine the real, actual value of the site from the amount of people using it. And sure, they can still find that information, but removing the poster count at least makes it harder for them.
My other assumption is that it's the CIA preparing for the election year and they don't want people calling out their samegayging.

For boards with poster IDs there's a really easy way to count unique posters though. I feel like it will be implemented in IQfyx soon enough, I am too lazy to bother.
