XFCE used to be good before they ported it to GTK3 and ended up with a lot of the same usability regressions as GNOME 3. The memory usage has increased significantly, there's GNOME style CSD titlebars in a lot of the programs, the programs look worse due to features getting taken out of GTK3, etc.
I think the correct move would have been the XFCE and MATE teams forking GTK2 and working together to maintain it, although maybe they don't have enough developers to make that practical. I don't know what they'll do when Red Hat drops GTK3, as GTK4 basically drops support for every non-GNOME use case (no toolbars, no custom tooltips, no tray icons) so it'll basically be impossible to make a traditional desktop with it.
Budgie is planning to gradually move over to EFL, rather than support GTK4. Maybe XFCE will do the same?

NTA but a lot of times it's just the way to go, I'm a fan of .deb and App Images, but a lot of stuff I see around only comes in Flatpak or Snap, frick...
Based on the number of packages I'm going to assume Xubuntu doesn't change anything to do with snap compared to Ubuntu. In which case, these packages aren't user applications where snap makes sense but shit like the DE and the browsers and curl.
the projector in my school doesnt duplicate the resolution in my laptop with xfce, i have to change the resolution in my laptop to the projectors resolution so it gets right in the projector but its shit to work in the projectors resolution.
anyone knows how to solve this?
why is it so GODDAMN fine? whenever I turn on my computer knowing I use XFCE I just feel COMFY
It's not a perpetual beta test like other DEs.
quite accurate my dear anon
You can stop shitting up threads, it's not coming back
>and they said the IP counter was important
I ENJOY USING XFCE and also I have a HUGE PENIS.

I left xfce for IceWM but still hold it in high regard.
does icewm have something like whisker menu?
i cant use those old menus.
I love it. I would not change it for another DE.
it amazes me we live in a time when your desktop can be that BASED but you still have 17 snap packages installed

Without xfce linux becomes unusable. It made me realize how incompetent most foss gays are.
>xfeces
Cinnamon exists and it just werks unlike xfce
