If Most People go to Hell Isn't God Dumb?

Take the Protestant argument that Catholics aren't Christians. Well God would be dumb then because God would allow so many people to be led into hell by His own caprice. Take the example of all these false religions around. God would be objectively dumb for letting people be born into a false religion and then expecting them to get the magical knowledge of the correct religion. In this universe God actively lets false religions promulgate but goes GRRRRRR I want to burn all these people who don't know better.

From my understanding, God actually regrets creating humanity, hence why Jesus needed to come down and redeem man

How can a timeless omnipotent omniscient being have regrets?

You could ask the same for any other property or attribute of God. Why does he love? Why does he seem to simply be a projection of human ideals? Well, my friend, this is because he is a creation of human ideals. Christianity, as well as the other two abrahamics, are loads of shit. However, there is always the slim possibility (as in pulling 0 out of infinite) that this is ultimately truth, and we need to accept it as is. However, the chances of this being the truth are essentially impossible, hence my prediction of the possibility of Christianity's validity.

God doesn't regret anything. It was his will that Adam and Eve bite from the fruit. He planted the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden, he let the serpent into the garden. He warned them only to test their free will, and they ended up doing exactly what he knew they would. God wanted to bring humans to his level, they were innocent children before and then they learned what good and evil is. Now they can become like God. Christians have a fairytale surface level of understanding of this story.

Are you claiming that you are better regretor than GOD ALMIGHTY!

It is written, I AM A JELOUS GOD!

No one regrets with more infinite power than HIM! How dare you sit here and claim to have the ability to regret more than HIM. Do you really think that your ability can exceed HIS own! You see that? He owns it, not you.

Have you ever panned for gold? You start with a pan full of dirt but all you end up with is a few crumbs of gold. Yet those crumbs are worth more than all that dirt that got washed way. Allow the Holy One to test you and refine you into pure gold and you will be collected like a valuable treasure, but if you insist in living like dirt then like dirt you will be washed away.

Except for the scenario you laid out, God created the Dirt and the Gold and they can both become the opposite (if you believe in free-will). Foreknowledge suggests that God knew he was creating a speck of Dirt and that you would never become Gold even though you had the Choice. Yet, here you are, believing you are a speck of Gold by Choice.

Well it is just a metaphor, in reality you have a choice to be righteous or wicked. It is 100% your choice.

picrel suggests that you didn't choose, but instead were predestined. How can you be predestined to be a speck of Gold, and also have the Choice to be a wicked spec of Dirt?

God, by the abrahamic definition, isn't dumb, rather egotistical. He created the heavens and hell to simply separate parts of himself that he deemed to be "unideal" and rejected the inherent ego. Now, the real question lies within God's constant need for glory and praise. Why does he have choirs of angels surrounding him to sing him praises? Why did he create humans by separating parts of himself into "unideal forms" just to weed out the most vain parts of himself? Perhaps the truth is just as ugly as such

God puts evil people in Hell only. Righteous people go to Heaven. This applies to everyone, and all religions. The standard of Judgment is universal.

    >Take the Protestant argument that Catholics aren't Christians.
This is actually incoherent, since its basis is sola scriptura and any possible reading thereby. If a Catholic reads scripture only and concludes that Catholicism is true, then a Protestant doesn't have a leg to stand on against him. Sola scriptura was never a rational position, always an ad hoc doomsday weapon against the Church's clear authoritative, teaching and historical advantage.

I love this passage by Nietzsche, which hits its mark:
      >The Lutheran Reformation, in all its length and breadth, was the indignation of the simple against something complicated;; to speak cautiously, it was a coarse, honest misunderstanding. Today we can see plainly that, with regard to all the cardinal power issues, Luther was fatally limited, superficial and imprudent. He fumbled, he tore things up, he handed over the holy books to everyone; which meant that they got into the hands of the philologists, that is, the destroyers of any belief based on books. He demolished the concept of church by repudiating faith in the inspiration of the councils; for the concept of church can only remain vigorous as long as it is presupposed that the inspiring Spirit which had founded the Church still lives in her, still builds her, still continues to build its own dwelling-house.

      >He gave back sexual intercourse to the priest: but three-quarters of the reverence of which the people are capable (and particularly the women of the people) rests on the belief that a man who is exceptional in this regard will also be exceptional in other matters. It is precisely here that the popular belief in something superhuman in man, in the miraculous, in the saving God in man, has its most subtle and suggestive advocate. Having given the priest a wife, he had to take from him auricular confession. Psychologically this was appropriate, but thereby he practically did away with the Christian priest himself, whose profoundest utility was ever consisted in his being a sacred ear, a silent well, a grave for secrets.

        >
"Every man his own priest?" such expressions and their peasant cunning concealed, in Luther, the profound hatred of the superior man; and the rule of the superior man; as conceived by the Church. Luther destroyed an ideal, which he did not know how to attain, while seeming to combat the degeneration thereof. It was he, who could not be a monk, who repudiated the rule of homines religiosi; he consequently brought about within the ecclesiastical social order precisely what he so impatiently fought against in the civil order, namely, a peasant revolt. He knew not what he did.
