I’m about to order Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer. Tell me about a better book I should order. Hard mode: Only 20th or 21st centuries.

The Turner Siaries
FRICK
A la recherche du temps perdu, mon ami
Got them already
Shouldn’t I start with Cancer?
Yes, you should.
How about Tropic of Capricorn and The Colossus of Maroussi?
Cormac McCarthy didn’t consider Miller a real writer.
Cormac was pro-trannies so who cares.
no he wasn’t. don’t rewrite history.
He was. The Passenger has a troony seen through a positive light. There’s a love story between a troon and normal guy.
you’re an imbecile
See
having a moronic opinion isn’t the same as confusing two people with the same name, moron.
shut up eternally whining Black person
you’re really showing your iq now.
Wow dude, what a meaningful insight. I wouldn‘t have known from the multiple daily mentions of it on this board since the novel came out. You must have done some pretty deep research to dig this up. Maybe the book has extensive themes about the fear and enthrallment of ceasing to exist? Maybe the lead is following his emotional compass on a reproductively nonviable relation from his past? Shit, I can‘t research THAT hard.
homosexual moron.
ywnbaw
I‘m not trying to be. Touch grass if you feel like projecting this hard on anybody who calls your dumb shit.
>Touch grass
God, what a pathetic reddit catchphrase. McCarthy's audience no doubt.
You're obsessed with trannies, you fricking troony.
>no u
I talked about reddit. You brought up troons again. Very telling.
Getting so sick of people pointing out how poorly adjusted you are that you eventually assign all mention of it to the bad website
I have never seen a red-blooded heterosexual man say “touch grass”. It’s always liberal women and homosexuals.
Who gives a shit what a shut-in moron has seen?
Clearly you, given that you’re seething and replying lmao
Am not
You are. Here’s another reply.
Is not
McCarthy liked Henry Miller and cites him as an influence. You’re thinking of Henry James.
Exhibit A
You're thinking of Prouse. McCarthy famously said
>Proust? That ain't litterture (J R reference)
Henry miller was actually a favorite of his.
East of Eden
I love Henry Miller and I have read most of what he’s wrote. Start with whatever you want but I wouldn’t recommend Black Spring, Capricorn, or the Rosy Crucifixion Trilogy(sexus, plexus, nexus) as starters
I actually like this push by one or more anons to get people to read Miller. I've never read Miller, but I've read "Miller-adjacent" authors. I've always wanted to read Miller too. It was just at my local used bookstore, they inflated his prices ($10-20) for one of his books when their average book price is around $5. I'll have to say for those interested in Miller, these "Miller-adjacent authors should be equally satisfying
>Hunter S. Thompson
>Jack Kerouac
>Anais Nin (forgot the alt-code for i's with umlauts)
>William S. Burroughs
>(maybe) Irvine Welsh
>(maybe) Chuck Palahniuk (nothing written after 2009 though lol)
I like Thompson. Can’t stand Kerouac.
I already posted itt but I’d like to add on some encouragement; Miller is a great antidote for modern times. He was was fed up and disgusted with society so he decided to explode. His whole oeuvre is very meta, he made a career writing about becoming a writer and writing about himself and his interests. He would appeal to the alienated young anons here
>mistakes two different authors
>emits moronic opinion from a false appeal to authority
>still thinks he has the high ground
OP here. I already ordered it 🙂
Cant wait
The Tombs by Enrique Medina.
Way to take the thread off the rails, homosexual
>anon obsessed with Reddit
>anon obsessed with trannies
>anon has his brain warped by this site and is deranged
Too many such cases
Why does Cormac love troons?
