Cormac McCarthy didn’t consider Miller a real writer.

Wow dude, what a meaningful insight. I wouldn‘t have known from the multiple daily mentions of it on this board since the novel came out. You must have done some pretty deep research to dig this up. Maybe the book has extensive themes about the fear and enthrallment of ceasing to exist? Maybe the lead is following his emotional compass on a reproductively nonviable relation from his past? Shit, I can‘t research THAT hard.

I love Henry Miller and I have read most of what he’s wrote. Start with whatever you want but I wouldn’t recommend Black Spring, Capricorn, or the Rosy Crucifixion Trilogy(sexus, plexus, nexus) as starters

I actually like this push by one or more anons to get people to read Miller. I've never read Miller, but I've read "Miller-adjacent" authors. I've always wanted to read Miller too. It was just at my local used bookstore, they inflated his prices ($10-20) for one of his books when their average book price is around $5. I'll have to say for those interested in Miller, these "Miller-adjacent authors should be equally satisfying
    >Hunter S. Thompson
    >Jack Kerouac
    >Anais Nin (forgot the alt-code for i's with umlauts)
    >William S. Burroughs
    >(maybe) Irvine Welsh
    >(maybe) Chuck Palahniuk (nothing written after 2009 though lol)

I already posted itt but I’d like to add on some encouragement; Miller is a great antidote for modern times. He was was fed up and disgusted with society so he decided to explode. His whole oeuvre is very meta, he made a career writing about becoming a writer and writing about himself and his interests. He would appeal to the alienated young anons here
