whatever brings you peace homie, to answer your question i'd say start learning the fundamentals of arabic. islam and arabic are very closely intertwined such that most muslims believe that arabic itself is a divine language, and the language of angels. it's an esoteric language that fundamentally breaks away from the rules of pretty much all languages on earth, barring hebrew and aramaic
i'd like to warn you that converting to islam is viewed by pretty much the whole muslim community worldwide is a one-way ticket. there's no backsies, once you are witnessed saying the words that make you a muslim, you're marked as such and any attempt to go back is considered wayyyy more taboo in islam than in any other religion. most muslim countries make apostasy illegal, as in you get arrested for it
there's also some stuff you need to keep in mind but im sure you already know

The hadiths, but most importantly, get involved with your Islamic community. Go to friday prayer, meet other muslims, volunteer where you can. You'll learn more from the practice and the community than from books initially.
If you're looking for books that approach Islam from a western perspective, Greek into Arabic by Richard Walzer is an interesting series of essays about the impact of Greek philosophy on Islamic thought, and the Biography of Malcom X is an important book for American converts. For scholars: Abdal Hakim Murad and Tariq Ramadan are both doing interesting work in Britain and France respectively.

One shouldn't read hadith cover to cover like a book, but ahadith are disjointed and achronological, much like the Qur'an. So read the ahadith bit by bit from whatever chapter interests you

The most attractive part of the Qur'an is its straight forwardness and repetition. It makes the theology unmistakable. It expressly does not dwell on details for a reason. An example is the mentioning of the story of Abraham sacrificing his son. The Qur'an purposefully doesn't specify which son it was because it is not important to the story, any good father would not discriminate between his sons.
In the OT, there are only a few verses here and there of absolute monotheism, like the Shema. If the OT repeated the Shema nearly a hundred times, angel worship and Christ worship woulf have never appeared in Judaism.
In Islam, there is zero doubt and zero room for reinterpretation, the clear verses are clear in their apparent meaning, unmistakable and ubiquitous
