In math and science there is progress and answers.

In math and science there is progress and answers.

In philosophy there is 2500 years of intellectual masturbation and nothing more.

In terms of Philosophy, Plato, Confucious and Lao Tzu solved everything 2,500+ years ago. Every philosopher since Plato, Confucious and Lao Tzu is a lesser deformity of them in some way or another.

      to add:
They answer everything, but the difference between science, which can give strong answers as to the foundational aspects of physical universe, and philosophy, is the answers in philosophy will be unique and personal, since every human is simply unique, and each humans relationship with God is simply unique. This is what filters so many people today. They want a black and white answer but each answer will depend on the person, their vices and virtues, and how close or far away they are from God. It's all personal, and a huge adventure. Few people ever take it.

Then it is impossible to have literally any basis for morality or virtue. If there is no God, then each man is free to make up, design and perceive good and evil as he see's fit, since there is no objective standard of good and evil.

Whether evil or good ultimately prevails is an entirely secular question.

It isn't, it's a philosophical and theological one. That wasn't my point, either.

So, does your god actively give little kids inoperable brain cancer, or does he just watch them get and then sit back while it slowly kills them?

Morality and virtue have always been human defined concepts.

They're defined through the understanding and the reasonable faculty in man, yes. But their foundation and basis is in deity, who gave us the aility to discern, perceive, and reason, which as in art is called philosophy.

Does this make you shit your pants, christoid?
Does the thought of people being free and living as Nature intended make you really, really uncomfortable? Like, you fear the consequences what would happen to your weak ass that gets pampered by christ-insane societies?

philosophy is open to interpretation, "math" is literally made up nonsense theories people have been gaslighted into accepting as fact, same as physics.

    >In math and science
So philosophers, like Aristotle (study of animal biology, modal logic, informal fallacies, the framework Euclid set his Elements in), Theophrastus (study of plants), Galen (study of medicine), Descartes (the symbolic algebra we still use, studies on optics, meteorology, and motion, set the prigram forward for mathematical physics), Bacon (set the program forward for experimental physics), Pascal (work in projective geometry, discerned the weight of air and fluids), Newton (go ahead and check the full title of his Principia--"Mathematical Principles of..." *what*?), Leibniz (work in dynamics and calculus), etc. It's awfully convenient of you to write off "philosophers" while absconding with their discoveries and renaming them "mathematicians" and "scientists" when it suits you.

True, philosopher and scientist used to be interchangeable for a long time.

Analytical philosophy is the science of logic. Continental is mere posturing, but it's still deeply valuable.
