I'm really undecided wether i should get the ipad air or the pro (both with M1 chips). Considering that I'm mostly going to use it for note-taking, which version should I buy?
The biggest turn down on the air is the storage, only 64 gb seems too little considering that I plan to use it for the next 5 years

Same boat bro, probably going to pull the trigger in the next couple days but I'm not sure which one to get yet

Stopped reading there. You don't need one of these overpriced toys for taking notes.
Yeah, but everyone I know in uni says they are fantastic for studying
Anything you need an iPad for that a Galaxy Tab can't do?
>note taking
In that case even the base model ipad would work. Otherwise, just find whichever air model is on sale. I can promise you, the "laminated screen" shit doesn't matter when taking notes, and so the base model ipad will work fine. The only downside to the base model is the lack of pencil 2 support which means you will have to buy a separate case or whatever to keep the two items together. Plus pencil 1 charging is fricking idiotic, but livable.
Pros are worthless unless your company is paying for it.
run smoothly after 6 months. Had a tab S7, and I really really loved the flexible tips the stylus had. It's so nice I hope apple copies it. But whatever frickshit they do to android is garbage. Why nobody can create a good drawing app on android is also beyond me.
Ipad are way more reliable, had my 5th gen base model since it came out and still kicks ass apart from the battery
run an OS that isn't going to randomly update one day and be unusable

Are tablets no longer shit for notes?
I have the iPad Pro 12.9 M1 2TB. For notetaking, my advice is to get the previous gen one that is not M1 for superior battery life.
i got the ?3rd? gen ipad pro 12.9 including pen and keyboard for 950euro second hand.
i love it, split screen works fine. keyboard is great. battery is awesome. 2 usb-c ports,
file manager understands smb out of the box
wireguard is available
with blink you get sftp support and a somewhat decent shell.
biggest downside is no webm audio on IQfy. although with the recent update webm video works.
i then got an iphone and airpods. the airpods automatically switch devices if needed. i can take phone calls on ipad. etc
the magic keyboard is great and NOT overpriced. just add together the price for a case, a backlit keyboard with nice keys, an additional charging port, a magic touchpad with all the nice gestures and the magnets that make if snappy. if you try to get all this non-apple you will pay the same.
with note taking, do you mean writing or typing?
both writing using the pencil and typing
the magic keyboard is great for typing, gives you a more notebook style.
downside, it sucks with the pen; you have to take it out to place it flat on the table.
i don’t have the folio keyboard, maybe that one works better for typing and drawing.
with the magic keyboard the thing is very stable and i use it lying the couch without it tipping over.
i got the pro for the bigger size which enables two apps side by side in “full” mode. air should be enough for you. but get more than the 64gb version
Just get the 9th gen iPad and stop with the silliness.
I bought a 256gb, 12.9 inch 2nd gen ipad pro on ebay for 300 euros. It works great and i use it for painting, which is more demanding on the hardware than note taking. I don't think i would notice any difference if i bought a more modern one, since this one works perfectly already.
I would not buy a new expensive one, specially if it's just for note taking.
what’s up with you, afraid that your are gay?
i just used gcc on my ipad to compile some free software. there is also a bunch of free software in the appstore, e.g. openTTD
just filter the schizo posts
