Theoretically, yeah. It's going to have to be exquisitely aesthetic and deal with seeing characterizations that tap into some fundamental part of human nature. It would be like a novel about Ghengis Khan, only some shots is on a quest for fame and glory in a simulacrum of power that is still regarded as power in the simulation. He's a child because such a thing is childish, just as conquest outside of true power is an illusory endeavor. He's a celebrity in a spectacle, there's a barbed undercurrent of hero worship and all the tween sex reflects the true interests of his fans and our own society. Execution would be key, all this needs to be ambiguous and the end will not be so clean as a fappily ever after. It's a damning post-nut clarity.
I'd probably frame the adolescent sex as a subverted and redirected, initially pure natural desire and follow the cues of erotica on nifty which have a subtext suggesting that we fetishize this purity and pervert it out of some desire to return to Eden, which only corrupts the pure. The MC would at some point be cursed with Knowledge and be damned for it, unable to change the tide of the society that props him up for their own amusement.
Man it would take a strong hand to make this work, but it could be done.

I have a feeling it would be absurdly easy to turn one of those “instant harem for a loser” anime’s into a character commentary or some kind of mirror for the viewer type thing seeing as the whole point of making that type of story is for evil means for evil people (power fantasy for losers)

This thread made me recontextualize something I was working on as it was a very YA story about coming of age things, set in the kind of modernist isekai world murakami epitomizes as far as literary authors are concerned. I have a vague sense that I need to think about, there's something very interesting with this that aligns with those questions of futility and fantasy. It helped someone out, at least.
