Give it a couple years. People are loving salvador rn due to the president and cheap stuff and safety. Plus me as a canadian I want to leave this shithole.
What worries me with el Salvador is the fact that what's gonna happen with all the criminals they locked up?
Will they be kept behind the bars forever or will they get out and revenge.
Okay.
It's going to be a fricking bloodbath when they get a shit president in the future who changes the view on this gang shit.
I really hope the criminals stay behind the bars for good.
I guess thats the speculation part. Bukele got reelected and he will most likely be reelected for a 3rd time. Who knows what the future holds after. But anyone suspected of being in a gang goes straight to jail they have absolutely 0 tolerance for it anymore.
Isn't real estate a bad call in general, as almost no country is at a replacement birth rate so demand will decrease?
Or are you betting on the unlimited continued importation of the third world?
Kinda feels like America is going to decide that Bukakke is a brutal dictator and El Salvador needs to have some democracy bombs dropped on them if we ever manage to catch our breath. Our owners in Israel are keeping us kinda busy at the moment though.
Bukele needs to kill all the criminals behind bars to consider investing in Salvador
Right now it doesn't worth a single SUPER token to invest in, their economy is still crappy
it's a gamble, it could easily go back to being the biggest shithole in the region just as quickly as it improved
what if nayib doesn't get reelected and they take a sudden left turn like brazil did?
I've been considering it for a while
Some things to consider
- There isn't much information online about listings like there is in north america. You will need boots on the ground and preferably some ability to speak spanish.
- The country is already kind of expensive. You would expect to find good deals since it's so underdeveloped at the moment, but thats not really the case. There are little shacks going for like 150k-200k+ . Again, youll need to know people to find the good deals.
there aren't many beautiful properties from what ive seen online. maybe it's due to the climate or god knows what. online listings are mostly clay looking houses with 1 floor and bars on the windows.
anyway, I don't think the values are going to shoot up tomorrow. it will take time for people to trust the brand and for infrastructure to catch up.
having been to both countries I can't even imagine who would call it the next singapore

Well ackshually my grandmother just came back from her month long vacation there. Ill ask her how it was
if you think canada is a shithole you have no idea how bad things can get.
t. i'm actually from el salvador.

Those who are confirmed gang members are gonna be lifers. Family members of alleged innocent people are still fighting to get them out
Okay.

Once Bukakke is out of power they'll kill him and trash your inflated Salvadorian real estate.
probably get sent to canada as refugees
lebanon did this to australia after their civil war
land is not a good investment if you are talking about returns. development can be, but it's not easy

My bet is crypto people and well off foreigners investinf and living in the country in the future.
