No. Its 800 pages about gay men written by a woman who has never had a gay friend. Jude is cripple in constant pain and is depressed but somehow has an incredible work ethic. All his "friends" enable Jude's self-destructive antics. At it's core, it is shitty torture porn.
As said, it does make for good kindling, especially since you get to watch the overdramatic face on the cover of the book burn.

It's adult ya, but I see it gets long, thoughtful reviews that take it *very* seriously.
This is the last book I let the normielit meme machine trick me into reading. It’s surface level misery porn and extremely melodramatic, unrealistic not as a stylistic choice but due to authorial incompetence. The characters are unlikeable, not in a good way, in the Lena Dunham way. Avoid at all costs.
All criticism of it is either accusations of it not being realistic (it's not trying to be realistic) or it not being gay enough (it's not trying to be a gay book).
It's a melodrama about a self-harming depressed psycho orphan who was raped as a child, and as an adult he works as a lawyer but can barely function. He has a few friends, and later gets into dysfunctional relationships, but he never really succeeds in anything long-term.
It was one of my favourite novels when I was an /LULZ/ doomer.
Is that a dude or a girl?
Its elon musk
yes, as firewood

This, it's fujoshi torture porn, don't get baited
Whenever I see that cover, I think it looks like Jim Carrey closing his eyes tightly.
It's a gay orgasming, no joke

I'll pass, in no small part because of the type of people I've seen lauding it.
Always thought that was James Franco on the cover but apparently it isn't.
Wild.
That's much better
>NYt bestseller
No thanks
Yes. It makes Redditors seethe because it's "torture porn" of LGBTQ characters. It's well written torture porn though.
John you are the redditors
>female author
>female Korean mutt author
Hawaii was a mistake.
My fifty-something female coworker recommended this to me for some ungodly reason.
