Is it suspect

That windows can still be vulnerable to viruses while other OS never even had them? Is it deliberate?

Linux has more 0 days than windows tho in fact even windows is more secure than macs probably the chart is windows > macs >= linux (not sure about bsd)

The answer is Yes. Unless it is No. But it's probably neither and actually requires a nuanced conversation with the understanding that the result will change over time because software engineering (especially OS level programming) is rapidly changing standards for what is considered 'vulnerable' or not.

linux users are simply more intelligent than windows users. that's why they don't get viruses.

For macOS the relative rarity of malware was historically a market share thing, and then was a result of stronger platform security (File Quarantine/Gatekeeper/SIP/the new ios-style permissions thing they started doing where you need to individually grant access to certain directories/etc). That comes at the cost of interfering with normal system operation if you're a knowledgeable user running trusted software, but for non-technical users it's arguably a decent tradeoff.
There's plenty of Linux malware, it just doesn't target the desktop because hardly anyone runs it there. It targets insecure servers/web applications.

So windows is not vulnerable to viruses?

Windows is not especially vulnerable to malware compared to other operating systems, and there is nothing that would make it more challenging for a hacker to write a virus for linux than it is to write one for windows

So it’s like the other anon said market share I guess

On the other hand convincing a Linux user to run your malware on their machine is a lot harder than doing it to give me exe wintards. As someone who has hacked into MANY Linux boxes I can tell you that even 0days and such aren't as big of a deal as dumb users who don't understand how to secure their shit properly and make obvious mistakes. Linux gives you the freedom to do what you want and doesn't hold your hand every step of the way. That means if you want to be a total moron and run some software that has a web ui with a default password and ability to write to disk as root you can. Why not? It's your computer.

The hell would viruses even take from Linux neets? Their riced desktop desktop configs?

If you want to compromise Linux machines you're probably targeting servers not random desktop users. The latter do have some use to me as residential proxies though so I keep an eye out for ways to get them.

Why not just make ransomware for loonix?

The Russians have done exactly that but they're more focused on Windows. They want to get into corp networks and rape the domain controller.

          >rape the domain controller
is this related to new tor's transport that just got released which is related to domain hosting?

          [...]

russia really hates tor, and having such strong censorship evasion transport is 'thread to national security'

in windows you download .exe from untrusted sites on the internet
in linux you download programs from the curated package manager

      >in linux you download programs from the curated package manager
Most people install random .deb files or add random PPAs from Github

What’s an untrusted site? What’s a trusted site? With Linux you have to download an iso from an untrusted site to install your OS. With windows you download software from the developer’s site, if you don’t trust the developer then why use their software? And where do you think Linux maintainers get their code from?

      more like
      >download software from the developers website
      >software has to be signed or else you get a warning
while on linux it's more like this
      >repo? repo? repo?
      >it's not in my fricking repo?
      >repo repo repo
      >I have to download it from somewhere else
      >oh a random dude made and install scripts
      >lets just run it
      >run run run
      >script hasn't been tested on a newer distro
      >system is borked now
      >great success
      or
      >repo? repo? repo?
      >it's in my repo!!"!!!"""§§"
      >sudo fgt install shitware
      >it's a two year old version with bugs
      >nice nice nice I love package magners and package jannies
      or
      >repo? repo? repo?
      >it's not in my repo
      >just let me go to the github page of the developer
      >no binarry
      >you have to compile it yourself
      >open up the readme
      >apt install shitlib01
      >apt install shitlib02
      >apt install shitlib03
      >apt install shitlib04
      >apt install shitlib05
      >apt install shitlib06
      >apt install clugdge
      >apt install dickweed
      >apt install nignog
      >sudo ninja -xyz -dwd ./install.md
      >error error error
      >error error error
      >developer forgot to mention you also need tar, unzip and curl
      >install
      >have to create a short cut
      >have to update it manually
      >waste time waste time waste time

literally had this experience when compiling guitarix on linux. bunch of bloatware libs had to install that readme never mentioned. only way to know about it is by constantly reconfiguring the build and reading new error

I had this problem compiling cemu (wasn't with ninja) but I had to look into the log files because the error massage was useless (like always). I'm still mad. It's stupid and I don't want to recompile some shitware everytime they release a new version while windows gets an auto update feature. It also made my pc unusable for 10 minutes because my CPU was pegged to 100%.

Which OS has the widest and most convenient support for video games again? Games that are desperately pirated by moronic third worlders and children who need to play the newest games ASAP or they will suffer from FOMO? That's why
