If by "nice" you mean somewhat functional but "soulless" then yes.
The soul of a shelf is its contents.
But it does need more books.
Stop lurking Felix

Girl here, immediatly dried up.
Trannies chant dry up, youre talking about your ball sweat Timothy
>immediately dried up
It wasn't the book that caused that, it was the wall.
Is being wet your default?
>no sides
>no back
You will never be a real bookshelf.
Having a back to a bookshelf is for women and gays
>>no back
Why have a back so the books can't breath and the mould can fester?
Too much air
yeah, he should consoooom more
Penguin shouldn't be in anyone's bookshelf. It should be hidden somewhere, only to be read when no one is looking
What the frick is wrong with penguin? The content is the important part, and they hold up perfectly fine for one or two or five readings. Just get a nicer edition later if you actually like the book.

NTA, but I don't know half of these. I just buy Everyman's Library, some of those nice (faux) Leatherbound ones, and a Folio once or twice.
>funko pops
lol
>funko pops
What?
fake leatherbound books are considered to be the funko pops of the book world.
That said, if you actually read them feel free to ignore the disdain. They also look fine on a shelf if they aren't the only books on it.
I don't get the hate. I like to have all Sherlock stories in one volume for example, and the book looks good. I like those Canterbury Classics ones. I bought the proper Everyman's version of War & Peace, not a "leatherbound" edition, but I got the Lovecraft stories in that format. It depends on the book for me. Paradise Lost and Divine Comedy I have on that hardback with cloth and the paintings. I'm all over the place. I just prefer hardbacks to paperbacks for my shelf collection.
How do I get real leatherbound books? If I ever come into money I’m going to have custom binding work done like you sometimes see done to very old books.
Used bookstores, library sales, estate sales, and 'collectors' presses like Easton (don't buy them new as an investment; they don't retain their value as a general rule) if you like them. Honestly I think those look roughly as gaudy as the cheapo BN Leatherbound Classics and the like, but that is me and aesthetic tastes will vary. FWIW I haven't seen a significant difference in longevity between cloth and leather bindings, at least in books up to 150 years old or so. Past that leather might have an advantage but I'm not certain.

This guys is extremely moronic he has no vocab. IMPREGNATE YOUR FRICKING WIFE PEWDS I FRICKING SWEAR YOU DUMBFRICK
The shelf itself? Won't hold up very well unless lightly loaded, need much thicker shelves or a full steel frame if you want a backless book shelf to not slowly collapse in on itself.
Soulless, ugly, poorly designed and barely even functional.
Is that the guy from the homesteading youtube channel ?
It looks like someone paid too much attention to the style and colour of the books spines like if there was book with a bright yellow spine they would not have brought it or put it on the shelf and that "bookshelf" is lousy
