>it's shit to everyone but me
One of my biggest fears is turning into an irrational moron with no self consciousness. I'm afraid of becoming a man with nonsensical concrete set beliefs who can't tolerate or understand a different point. Like those so deep in brainwashing they screech at you if you disagree.
Part of the reason he failed so badly was due to the author isolating himself for so long with no criticism or outside intervention. The best advice I can give is to put your work out there and listen to what people have to say about it. If they dislike it, maybe write a short story using their advice and see how it comes out. Then release that and see what others have to say.
I think Ray Bradbury put it best, “If you hide your ignorance, no one will hit you and you'll never learn.”
Sometimes, the people are moronic.
The big issue is that it's hard to tell the difference between useful and helpful criticism from someone who has opinions worth respecting, or criticism from someone who doesn't get it and just wants more well rounded slop that they expect to get.
Well, remember the Rabbit Hole dude? He kept making fun of Norm over an extra t in editing. He spent too much time on a fricking typo. Made me lose all respect for him, and it seems the other critics try way too hard to be funny. KrimsonRogue didn't need a long ass series about how lame this book is, did he? It's not even that bad, compared to other self-published and even mainstream releases. This is what happens when you live in a society where people are not given any ability to recognize legitimate mental illness when it appears. I could have told you Norman was mentally ill from the beginning of this story. There's a really sad trend of clearly mentally ill people getting an antagonistic (or supportive) audience through the internet and being driven away from identifying and handling their problems.

The Rabbit Hole dude got popular off making a video about Chris Chan, and the cult around Chris is built around finding mentally ill people and stalking and mocking them for the tinniest shit, so I'm not surprised. DtRH just does it in a more neutral deadpan tone, but it's still there.

"Christorians" are and airways have been despicably pathetic. Anyone who gets their kicks from torturing someone who literally cannot fight back in any meaningful way is a coward and a weakling. Most of these people get a kind of satisfaction by looking at Chris and saying "at least I'm not that guy," but if you need to compare yourself to someone like Chris to feel good about yourself then you're probably a lolcow yourself.

It's both a self defense mechanism and sadism. "Whenever I feel bad, I just look at CWC" was an often repeated sentiment, and they feel the need to dogpile on what's clearly someone mentally disabled, and spout the same justifications for it. It's like an asylum.
When normal people look at the mentally ill, they just look away and try not to get involved, "Not my business". Not pull out a camera and follow them home

They know what they're doing which is why they do all these mental gymnastics to justify themselves.
Also, they once groomed a child into conducting a months-long psyop on Chris (bluespike) because they thought it would be funny.

I always thought the bluespike gayottry was nothing until I actually listened to the idea. It'd literally a child making a mentally moronic man rape himself. Yelling at him to shove sharp clay up himself while Chris says it hurts.
These are the people that want to be the arbiters of what should or shouldn't be online

Part of his infamy isn't just how bad the book was, but due to his reaction to the critics. If he didn't start a 10,000 page flamewar with his critics, no one would know about this book.
And I'm sorry, but if you put something out on the internet for people to view publicly, especially a product which you purchase, expect the worse. I feel more bad for Chris Chan since there was obvious manipulation and bullying going on, but Boutin wasn't being manipulated to do dumb shit. People just disliked his book and how he took criticism.
>Part dedicated to describing a teenage girl's breasts
I agree
a >fictional teenage girl's breasts
Overly defensive post
dùšas
Sometimes I listen to Jabroni Mike reading it to me while I go to sleep.
Jabroni Mike tries way too hard to sound cool and funny. It seems every critic of this book is either a charisma vacuum or peak Redditor.
Sometimes I'm afraid I would put so much effort into something only for it to come out like this and it's shit to everyone but me
