It's been ten years. It's time for me to come clean. When I was 15, I was applying to a creative writing program and needed one last poem to finish off the application. I had IQfy open in another tab. There was an oc poetry thread. I copypasted some anon's poem into my application. I got in. They said they liked "my" poem. The program gave me a leg up when applying for an arts boarding school where I studied creative writing, and the skills I picked up there got me a creative writing scholarship for college. I owe the last ten years of my life in part to a IQfy anon's poem. To whoever that anon was, thank you. And I'm sorry I plagiarized your work.

Uhhh huh…
Post the poem.
this only because I want to know what kind of quality is enough to impress the profs
Holy shit I found it. Here's the archive link: https://warosu.org/lit/thread/4185255#p4191880
>picrel
dude that's... not very good
glad it worked out though
hey, I never said it was good. just said it worked. also I kinda think it's alright
I kind of like it too
Proof that all creative writing programs are degree mills for talentless moron
hey, you gotta churn out those email-writers somehow!
That sucked. Happy for you though, congrats.
Are you sure these aren't pop-punk lyrics from the 2000s?
How did they like it? It's not even poetry
It is, it's just bad. Which itself might be a disqualifier for the title of "poetry", but that's a discussion for another thread.
How is this poetry? It doesn't rhyme
You either don't read poetry or (unlikely) you only read pre-20th century poetry, which almost all of you definitely don't you frauds
no one reads here anon, including you
>You either don't read poetry or (unlikely) you only read pre-20th century poetry
this is all of IQfy.
1. IQfy doesn't read
2. IQfy doesn't read poetry
3. IQfy doesn't read poetry published after 1900
This is great. It's real and honest, which is something I can't say I always achieve in my work
I just did the sign of the cross
I assume they liked this because it reads like something a John Green character would write
Ah, man, I was hoping you used one of my poems.
Cost of doing business.
It was posted by an anon then it was really attributable to any and all of us. It's yours as much as anyone's.
Even if found could anyone even prove that it wasn't you who posted it originally?
>getting away with stealing makes it okay
it mustve been a stupid program if they never checked for plagiarism
how are they gonna check for plagiarism in an anonymous image board
Portrait of the Youth as an Editor is underdetermined id sinherence
It's okay, anon, I forgive you. The poem gained immortality anyway.
>I studied creative writing, and the skills I picked up there got me a creative writing scholarship for college.
and now what do you do ?
He posts on IQfy. Nothing has changed.
Now everyone should stop posting their poems on IQfy so their PRECIOUS work would stop being plagiarized
Get a job
