unrelated but is it true that when someone says "might" they're indicating that there's a low chance something will happen? and with "may" it's a high chance
i read that somewhere and it kinda confused me

I use "may" before pretty much every verb in my homework because it's haram to be too sure in my future profession. "Might" is the only form of the verb that rightly indicates uncertainty.

Syntax/Grammar autism has to be some of the most annoying shit in the world, who cares, the point of language is to communicate something, if you say the wrong thing but the message you wanted to get across came across then it works as intended

it is an obvious tell someone is uneducated / blue collar / poor when they don't speak correctly. just an easy way for an excelsior such as myself to filter out the common poors when dating and making friends

between two people that is fine, but when communicating with a wider audience, it's best to stick to the accepted rules of the language
too often i see esl posts which are only really properly understandable by other esl's
it's an entirely separate skill to be able to comprehend broken english

syntax and grammar are literally hallucinations and don't describe language properly at all. it's mental cope that seeks to make language out to be more complicated than it actually is. it is no mistake that algorithms based in grammarian cope are universally dogshit, while markov chains are capable of perfect construction with very simple rules. meaning is a result of pattern-association dictated by rhythm, phonetics, etc. the atomic unit of language is metaphor.

ask a linguist to formalize the link between syntax, phonetics and semantics and they'll short circuit. some of the stupider ones who aren't even familiar with their own field will even deny any connection at all. the whole of the "science" is a fat fricking joke.

Sorry, I use my language's logic when speaking English. Everything is "less" for me. The curse of English is being shat up by ESLs such as myself daily. English is going to devolve pretty hard within 100 years.
