You don’t. People who went to college can’t even get jobs. CS is a dead end. Just be thankful you didn’t waste thousands on a degree.

The CS market has been completely dead since last year. In the past two months there were 50k layoffs in tech alone while more H1B applicants flood every posting.

Unless you have at least +5 year experience you're fricked

how the frick do i feed myself then?

Should have gotten into trades. If you're reasonably healthy, it's not too late.

destiny (my favorite political streamer) says the trades just break your body over time and you'll regret it when you're 50

If you aren't moronic you just bust your ass for 10 years or so, then get younger guys to do the grunt work while you supervise and do the more technical stuff. Besides that, sitting on your ass for 8+ hours a day is also horrible for your body.

You know what the best part about the trades is (other than the complete absence of women in the workplace)? It’s that if you can’t do your job, you’re fired in the spot. No looking shit up, no gay ass homosexual meetings where you’re asked why your work isn’t done, no PIP or HR Sally’s. Just frick you, get fricked, and frick off. It’s also really hard work (unless you’re a sparkie and suck dick for a living) so you tech guys would never survive lmao. I told myself I would qualify as a tradie then learn to code, and I have, and now i’m laughing my wiener off at you homosexuals who have skill sets so fricking basic and lacking in both ingenuity & creativity that you’re all about to genuinely be replaced by a fancy autocomplete that, ironically, also can’t think for itself with the only difference between it and you “coderzz” being that the autocomplete actually follows through with doing the fricking work. Lmao the jokes really do write themselves

Before I went back to school for CS, I was an auto mechanic. I quit because I made more money delivering pizzas than doing brakes, clutches, water pumps…you know, stuff that prevents metal shitboxes from killing other people. Also, thousands spent on quality tools. Really makes you think.

I went from the trades to CS, too (self-taught), because my wife was making more than me, a carpenter, working as a registered nurse. Fricken mental

You build a portfolio by working for free or cheap. Get on GitHub and start contributing. My first pro job paid me $1/hour.

You feed yourself by working another job. I worked nights at Target. It took about 2 years until I was making enough to support myself entirely through dev work.

I don't understand why so many people have difficulties getting a job. I was able to get one easily by having my dad set me up with a job at the company he works at. In fact, most young people in my department got their job in a similar way.
    Have you tried doing that?

why do people freak out over bad job markets?

i've been a neet for 15 years. i would just wait a year or two until the market bounces back. what's the big deal?

There is not going to be a bounce back. It's 100% over this time.
