the way it portrays friendship seems shallow to me. a friend to me is someone who shares a more foundational aspect of my character, not just an interest or two.
I dropped out of high school at 17 and fixed my grades/neeted back and forth until 22.
Now i’m in uni but i don’t speak to anyone because i never found a social circle.
Is it just over then? If i can’t even make friends in the ”easiest” setting according to the video.
>I meet new people in group projects
I did a group project in a new class and new people, 3 girls were in my group and while we became friends after the project was done and dusted and the semester finished, we went our own seperate ways and never saw eachother again
had you been a chad you would have fricked all three of them, possibly in a foursome setting

Believe me, I tried but they all weren't interested so I just left them alone and I wasn't some autist neckbeard, there were other "chad" boys in the class and they started talking to me first to form a group
Sadly, yes. While they don't really focus it on the video, there's this unfortunate unspoken-of-but-inherent implication that the way you make friends is through other friends... but if you don't have an existing social circle already getting to that first friend or first couple of friends is nearly impossible in this day and age because of how insular everyone is.
nobody talked to each other in any of my classes
I bet everyone only talks in private or online now
how the frick am I supposed to but myself into their groups then?
get enrolled in a club at uni, and always ALWAYS take every opportunity that is given to you.
I had no friends my first three years of uni, then joined the rocket and rover clubs, as well as the dnd club. I started making friends by regularly meeting the same people, eventually got invited to club meetings, then small social events, then parties.
Then someone sent a mail on the uni networks to invite students to conferences on computing where people present papers and whatnot, everybody usually ignores these mails but i decided to give it a shot, I signed up to be one of the few students accepted to the event, and there I met even more people with who I created lasting relationships.
I also stopped playing video games as much as I used to, turns out staying alone in my room for hours did not help my case kek. I decided to treat myself even if I had nobody to hang out with, I'd go to a manga library or to the cinema alone and eventually I also made some new friends there.
Your social circle growth is exponential, the first few friends are very hard to make, but if people like you, it quickly starts to spread out.
This but I'm 26. I was a neet since 16- 18, went to community College for 2 years then became a neet since.
I wish I can trade places with you anon, you are so young and actually have a chance at reviving your social life. Me on the other hand, was the oldest in the class, can't really explain the gap for work, it's really fricking tough.
Just find a psychiatrist and start taking measurements asap if you are depressed.
I started uni completely alone since none of my "friends" went to the same one, I'm in the same situation.
Two years later and I've only grown more isolated, no contact except with my 3-person family. Now I'm taking a gap year due to circumstances. I don't know what'll be left of me by the time I get back in, I'll probably be too warped and cynical to ever get close to a guy or be attracted to a girl again.
We are lonely today because of social and cultural degradation. We enacted policies that encourage division and sell technology as a replacement. Obviously this isnt working and we've found out the hard way. No more trust in society because trust is an unfair privileged, so it was destroyed.
This is one of the major crisis that affect our society today and used to make us slaves to corporations and governments. We need to use technology to reign in those corrupt tyrants instead of them using it against us.
Fellow stem students/former students: should I actually try to make friends while I'm getting my degree or just focus on schoolwork? I've been devoting myself to studying for the past few years and I haven't talked to a single person on campus. Have I fricked up?
Yes you've fricked up. This is supposed to be the best time of your life. People form lifelong friendships, many find their partners, others have fun whoring around. Why the frick would you just focus on studying? You will never ever again have so few obligations. I've overslept lectures because I went for a second round with whoever I shared a bed with. Try this as an employee and they'll fire you.
At 17.5 you're not nearly out of school here. You start at 6, graduate after 13 years and then have to go to the military. Most men are 20 when they start university. And if you're still not socialising then I don't know what's wrong with you.

It's a bit in eye of the beholder. My girlfriend loves my asymmetric smile, I don't like it. But my point was: stop caring. One of my best friends is around 160 and has a girlfriend who's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.
The peaks an average person can reach in college really aren't attainable after unless you make it rich before 40. >Live middle class thanks to parents but without any serious obligations >Have freedom to travel whenever you want >Party whenever you want and have tons of friends willing to do it with you >Be able to bang tons of girls just by meeting them at a bar or party
Greater heights can be reached spiritually but really you probably won't have that much carefree fun again. If you missed it I'm sorry.

THIS!
College can easily be the BEST time of your life before marriage and a family.
Do NOT waste it!
No one will remember the 48 times you were rejected by every cheerleader on campus.
But YOU will remember the one time you were not!
PARTY on your breaks, go to spring break (a fricking warthog could get laid on Spring break in Florida).
Sadly I never went on Spring break, I always had a girlfriend and we either went to her parents or mine.
But I did have a lot of girlfriends, more than I can name.

Undergrad I just studied a lot.
Graduate school I studied and fricked a lot.
Graduate school was AWESOME!
Then getting a job as a software developer in Los Angeles was even MORE AWESOME!
I looked forward to the few nights I slept alone so I could rest up.
Then marriage, and now spend my weekends working on the lawn and my wife's garden.
Everyone at my university is a brainlet who just seethes about professors and exams and tries to pull down everyone who succeeds in class. They spend their free time cancelling people on Twitter. How am I supposed to get friends if people are all like this? I was told I would meet fellow math and physics autists here. Where are they?
actual question anons, help, i can't bare talking to classmates or let alone strangers (street/market..). dont get me wrong im pretty funny and outgoing but lately i feel throwing up talking to these "liars" i feel like everyone only cares about themselves and act cool with ppl and all these fake laughs hidden behind a fully selfish persona. like EVERYONE around me is wearing a mask. my sister went to study in ukraine with her besties and when war happened they just ran and left her. disgusting. why even live? my problem is ive been more and more able to detect fake personas and talking to people is more and more disgusting. so is it all in my head?? prove me wrong pls (dont agree pls)
>my sister went to study in ukraine with her besties and when war happened they just ran and left her.
How dare they flee a country that's invaded by its 10 times bigger neighbour?
>my sister went to study in ukraine with her besties and when war happened they just ran and left her
what do you expect? even ukrainian women are leaving their father, bothers and husband to go to a foreign country, half of the time just with the intention to prostitute out
also, there's no way she went to ukraine before 2014, she did it after isn't it? so she's moronic because this current war was bound to happen since 2014 and if she didn't look at how ukraine's geopolitical situation was before moving long term then it's honestly her fault, it's like moving to taiwan right now and then later complaining about china invading it
How the frick do you failed normalgays have the energy and or time to socialise? I'm a STEMgay with a near perfect GPA and when I'm done with my studies I just want to be left alone and watch some kino. The most socialising I do at uni is when I have to do some lab work or a group project.

Form a study group - at worst you'll do better on schoolwork, at best you'll do better on schoolwork and make friends
I'm not asking how to make friends, I'm asking if I should bother making friends
It depends on your goals in life, but usually at least 1 or two is good, plus a wife and kids.
