It's mostly due to godot being open source, and the console SDKs being proprietary software, there's a handful of companies you can go through to gain access for console support, for a fee though.
Still cheaper than a unity agreement, or a successful unreal game.
Godot doesn't support consoles well but consoles are a disease in the personal computing industry anyway.
You are supposed to work with a third party that will port the game for you using their modified proprietary Godot.
It's impossible for Godot mainline to do it for legal reasons.

So I currently use Unreal Engine 5 for rendering 3D animations (I can't afford a render farm like the big cats so this was a nice alternative). I wonder if O3DE can be used for that purpose too.
Good thing you don't charge rent.
Godot is a failed project? since when?
>10 years on making
>still no games
Get better bait.
03de is cool tho

Godot doesn't natively support consoles because consoles will not let them, not because they are incapable.
Kind of sounds like a dead-end if you want to put something out there and make your pennies back.

Less probability of success too. Shame because I want it to work but everything about it just seems janky.
>then everyone's "where is the big Godot game?!?" bait will be dead.
Takes a long time for bait to die. Just look at the whole Ubuntu/Amazon bullshit.

Explain, I don't keep up with Ubuntu
About 10 or so years ago Canonical shipped an Amazon app with Ubuntu. They changed course as soon as they saw how it pissed people off.

I agree. Juan and his fellow devs need to step up their game. This shit is just sad.

I'm a failed project
Gnome
Godot isn't failed. Slay the Spire 2 is going to be made in it, then everyone's "where is the big Godot game?!?" bait will be dead.
>ITT: failed FOSS projects
They're both run by DEI troons or simps that tow the line on it.
Godot hasn't gained much mainstream traction but it hasn't failed either. A recently popular game called Shotgun Roulette was made in it.
