I haven't read the law but it makes me wonder if the bureaucrats did it on purpose, or if it's malicious compliance from tech companies.
They want their analytics and they want info for their ad partners, which is why they chose malicious compliance. I think the worst were some European news websites who had literally(!) hundreds of toggle buttons, one for each ad partner, which were all enabled by default and which you needed to disable one by one.
well that also marks the point when censorship really started to take off in response to trump so yeah, I think its a good benchmark year
