picture is false, the low end never read the docs either, they just ask someone who they think already knows (either via Google, Social Media, or interpersonal contact). So Functionally, it is the same as reading the docs, as someone who read the docs answers the question, but it's still a very paradigm. Both are better than the middle though.
that's closer to the middle or even a little above the middle than the low end. Dumb people can't even grasp the concepts siloed into a over simplified YouTube video, unless they just parrot back whatever the Youtuber said (in which case it's no different than any other social media platform where they ask for help on demand).

idk anon, maybe I've just interacted with a different group of people than you, but on average people just swallow up oversimplified nonsense and exert a very rudimentary understanding of it, whereas those below average don't even try to understand it and often times just fake understanding by parroting stuff they heard elsewhere. If that lower end of people ever encounter a problem, rather than trying to solve it themselves, they always search for someone who they think knows the answer to solve it for them, and often times then take the credit if they can.

the true low end are the people who don't seek information at all, and just restrict themselves to programs they can use immediately/intuitively
if they can't figure out how it works, then they just don't use it
so yes, it's slightly above the minimum even to seek youtube tutorials

I think it's quite amazing through life I have noticed that people advertise themselves as an expert in subjects when it's quite clear they haven't even read the most basic manual on it. the most common of these are "agile" managers. CICD, TDD, Refactoring.. All words that people use and purport to have knowledge on but clearly don't even know what they mean.
AI chatbots are actually pretty good for making code examples when the docs are worthless. You'd have to be an idiot to actually try to cobble an app from GPT snippets though.
I think they're especially good for getting a high level view of something, especially if you don't know _what_ to google yet. But they can also spit out lies, so it's best to go to a reputable source for the actual information.

The cases you picked speak loudly of how autistic or simply new you are to programming. Mind you, I don't disagree, it's just something someone may realize after ~2 months of learning his first language. I suggest learning more, lurking more, STFU and kys, if you would be so kind.

high IQ is doing both though
I will never understand why this is the only field where people have a boner for hating quality of life tools, for some reason making their own life and job easier is something to be frowned upon
Techbros are resentful b***hes and underachievers in every area but their own, so they do hard stuff to out-l33t everyone else, it's a dick-measuring contest
Sometimes devs can be very bootlickery. Like I might ask a question or comment that something is dumb or whatever and I get told to shut up and be grateful that it at least exists, at least it has happened before.
anyone with a strong speciality has a hard time understanding how little the average person knows about it
i know it's cringe to post xkcd nowadays, but they are right sometimes
it's understandably can come off as arrogance, but i assure you it's not intended most of the time
Reading documentation is a moronic last resort, especially bad since most api documentation are fricking terrible. Muh read the docs people are just parroting memes. Docs are there to be processed by ChatGPT but if you're going to read a human readable documentation then make a good one don't be a dick, add descriptions and various examples, default values, etc

High end is compiler warnings and errors
