like I reboot and no matter what settings I choose, it resets the taskpanel to this massive fricking size. its installed on real hardware, nvidia drivers, cinnamon and gnome and xfce don't do this shit, only KDE Plasma is this fricking broken.

yeah I never had issues on Ubuntu or Linux Mint. I never had issues on Debian with XFCE or Gnome. Just KDE Plasma. Every fricking time I try it, it has some massive bug that makes you wonder
      >how the frick do they say this is release quality?

Debian morons NEVER managed to correctly package KDE Plasma. I suspect they hate it for some reason.

Probably paid to frick it up on purpose. Gnome gets so much money from Microsoft. It's arguably the worst desktop on Linux. I mean correlation isn't causation but there's a pattern. Microsoft is also a platinum sponsor of Debian. They called Linux a cancer. I'll never trust Microsoft.

looked like shit there too, yall told me to switch to debian 12 and it would be fine rofl. going back to Linux Mint. You ktards can kiss my kass. This is why people laugh at you. KDE was, continues to be, and will always be a bug ridden hot mess.

Id rather give my money to competent programmers like Clem who makes Linux mint. Honestly if one dude can make all of Linux mint and Cinnamon and have it be as stable as it is, why can't an entire team make plasma stable? Fricks sake it's honestly not that hard but they don't seem to know how to make things work on Linux.

I mean this too, I am

hey OP, I actually know why this happens. Cheap displays are using binned parts. Yes it is still the fault of KDE Plasma not adhering to the set resolution, it is trying to communicate with the monitor. The chip on your HDMI is saying "hey this monitor is capable of 4k" and the display driver inside is saying "no it is only capable of 1080p". Windows and other desktops on Linux are coded to just work with whatever resolution YOU set. You can force the DPI but that is a bandaid. It is built into the compositor. You can disable compositing but it will look like ass. Works fine on Wayland, but NVK is still very much incomplete. Come home to Linux Mint and ignore everything else.

this poster. Newer drivers can fix it, but it isn't guranteed. Linux 6.6~6.7 along with NVK do a lot to fix things, but at the moment, NVK is a hot mess. Works really well on 16, 20, & 30 series cards but 40 series cards still need the closed source drivers. Nvidia and KDE Plasma are not friends.

plasma is good because dolphin. if gnome apps werent pure ass id use it. (just use the apps you want) so, firefox is hit and miss if it will respect the default apps i set. and id still be stuck with the gtk file picker.

Not op but i tried to do the kde song and dance. You can only put up with so much bullshit before throwing your hands up and ignoring it entirely. I'll put up with the filepicker nonsense in Cinnamon. Why? It doesn't frick up constantly. I want to like plasma. I really really do. But the devs are just too incompetent.

flawless running install of manjaro plasma since 2019.

Sure that's fine and dandy but you're not running gpt on amd hardware. There's a lot to want to like but nvidia gave guidelines and everyone in the foss community said to frick off.

By the way amd ceo and nvidia ceo are related. They're both first cousins. There's no escaping the bullshit train.
