Have you had the dishonor of writin a single web application? JS is a great tool if you really hate yourself

You've never shipped a real product. You woudln't know but even if you don't hate yourself for using inferior tools your customer absolutely does. Correctness trumps speed always, and TS isn't the painpoint in speed anyway.

OCaml is probably the best example of strong implicit typing

this but unironically. with troonyScript, you instruct the compiler how to compile your program. with OCaml, you instruct the compiler what your program is

Even C has type inference these days.
Sometimes you actually want to add a constraint though.

I've never programmed in JS before and have only seen pain from TS. I am inclined to believe that TS is objectively better but because nobody knows how to use it a lot of pain happens. Kind of like how you can brick your computer if you don't know what you're doing with C.

Type systems can help with compiling, but they aren't for the compiler. They're for humans.
Thats also probably a major problem with programming languages now that I think about it. A lot of type system usage becomes convoluted monstrosities where people are trying to get the compiler to stop b***hing instead of keeping their types human readable. Maybe the world could use some type complexity linting features.

        >A lot of type system usage becomes convoluted monstrosities
Nearly all type systems in mainstream languages aren't strong enough to form anything truly monstrous. The only one that comes close is Haskell and that's because it keeps creeping closer to dependent typing and that's really stretching the definition of "mainstream" as it is. Generics are not complicated, enums are not complicated. Even a language powerful enough to express ADTs are not complicated.

I actually forgot about OOP and inheritance which is pretty monstrous so I guess in that regard I agree with you.

It's used for converting runtime errors into compiler errors so instead of your client customer your bugs, you do. Of course nobody on IQfy would know about it because they're all jobless NEETs.

The first step to recognize what TS brings to the table is to find a job. This alone filters out 90% of morons in this board.
Then, work in a team with moronic low iq normies, indians or Black folk who can't code for shit. TS will help to keep them in line and decrease the amount of damage they're able to do.

JS is for quick n' dirty scripts. TS for anything more complex

Javascript is shit and we should have discarded HTML/CSS and Javascript for Display Postscript or another real language.
