Just bought a new 1 ton work truck

$72,000 after tax, title, registration, and snowplow/installation. In my line of work the only viable strategy is to buy new and then trade it in after 40k miles before the transmission starts slipping because everything is built like shit now. I don't even like trucks but it's a business write off so I guess that's good.

4 years ago this setup would've cost $45k. Only thing I get for the extra $30k is automatic windows/locks and a fricking heated steering wheel. Do people not wear gloves anymore? This is a basic work truck model it's completely useless to me. Part of me thinks the heating element will fail and lock up the steering putting it out of commission for 3 months because the parts will be on backorder at the dealership for 3 months kek.

You have no idea how convoluted modern cars are.
That's not how it USED to work.
Now, you have no idea and it's entirely possible something similar to this could happen.

It would cost you 45k less if you bought it 4 years used, dumby. The moment you drive it off the lot it loses all that value

that's gay, I just buy 10 year old trucks for 10k.

Yeah the reason I had to buy a new one is because my 2012 Silverado 2500 with 65k miles went into limp mode 3 months ago. Needed a new ocbm, TCM, fuse box, and transmission rebuild for $6k. Just got it back finally. I tow 10-14klbs every other day and it just shreds the transmissions. Most reliable truck I've got is my 01 Ram 2500. Rebuilt transmission only has 7k on it, hopefully it'll hold up I honestly love this truck to death it's been a great workhorse.

Just watch this guy on YouTube “Waldo’s world” he buys the heaviest duty diesel trucks for like 3k at salvage auctions

That’s what you get for relying on flex plates and solenoids instead of clutch discs and basic driving skills, moron.

They don't even make 5 speed manuals anymore Einstein and even if they did plowing with a manual transmission is buttcheeks I did it for two years. Never again.

why dont you get a truck rated to tow 14klbs instead of buying a 1 ton truck that will explode

Buying a new truck for plowing snow?? This has to be bullshit

It's not for plowing it's for hauling mulch and stone but I've got over 100 residential driveways to plow in the winter and need two reliable trucks to get it done.

plows tend to beat up your truck, scraping it into the ground, bumping curbs and rocks and stuff. You would be better off getting a 4-wheeler with plow, keep it in the back of your truck with ramps, it's also much easier to fit in resi driveways, save the strain on your new truck

Reminder, "running a business" is a scam in the modern era, you bust your ass, risk your capital to pay more in taxes. Buying Bitcoin in bear markets and selling during bull ones is always a better play.

      >Pay more in taxes
Not with an s-corp. As a matter of fact incorporating as an LLC two years ago has probably saved me over 20k so far. If you structure your business properly, and get a good accountant, almost everything is a write-off.

If you're paying more than 15% of your revenue in taxes, that's more than long term capital gains.

My list is too long to even start.
But I sit in my corner office of my business, now after hours, having a beer I opened during hours, enjoying myself while money still continues to flow in overnight via internet orders.
IE enjoying the fruits of my labors.

I pay 15 wagies weekly and one salaried employee.

That's a typo, yeah? Transmissions should last 400k, not 40. Why would you purchase this product?

thank god i just use the bus, taxis, trains and bicycles to move around
having a car/truck and such is such a fricking waste of money, i don't get what's so appealing except flexing you have a car, it's like smoking cigarettes instead of weed

man, getting into crypto, investing on jizzlord and choosing to rent instead of owning a house alongside not having a car are the best financial decisions i've ever taken
