A teenager or early 20s adult can sit on a stack of bricks for 8 hours and be fine. Once you get a lot of wear and tear from sitting around all day for years, that's when ergonomic chairs come on.
Keep in mind the Aeron was around back when you were younger, and just as expensive.

LOL I got a refurbished one a few years back and it was $500. It's a nice chair not gonna lie for something you spend 8hrs/day 5days/week in price doesn't really matter. It's like spending money on a nice mattress. cost per use it's still cheap.

The real hack is buying seat cushions for your existing chair so it becomes actually comfy and will not make your butt hurt after sitting for hours.
Buy it from Madison seating on eBay for $500 instead
I got my chair for $5 from a junkyard 17 years ago. had to clean in thoroughly but it was worth it.

Ergo chairs are designed to keep wagies from snoozing around. Plush pillowy fabric comfort chairs are peak comfy and they aren't even that expensive. Don't get fake leather it feels cold and artificial, and starts disintegrating after a year.
The foam will always be flat after just a few week or months no matter how expensive they are.
Same for the cheapies.
Fix them yourself or add cushioning however you want later, that's worth your time.
