Just read my first book

Hey anons , I just completed my first book , I need some recommendations.

Please recommend me books which are easy to read. I've also read books like canterville ghost and animal farm but that was back in school.

I love the movie so I thought I'll read the book for fun and I enjoyed it a lot.

Try Finnegans Wake. If you don’t like it then just accept that reading is not for you. No need to force it

Troll post. Ignore this anon. Gravity's Rainbow is an easy book that should take you an afternoon to get through, that is assuming you IQ is above 90.

Can i piggy back and ask for some recs

    Anyone got any recommendations.
I listen to audiobooks at work but am getting bored with fiction.
The issue for me is the non fiction can't be too dense or ill end up not retaining anything.

Just finished sapients and it was okay not to dense and easily digestible while working.

Try some historical fiction that’s mostly based on truth like Devil in the White city.

The cheese and the worms. A non-fiction that is short and interesting.

Try “fear and loathing in Las Vegas” or “a clockwork orange”. They’re also in first person and are about a more depraved aspect of society. Plus they have movie adaptations too.

Seconded, you could also try Leviathan Wakes.

Try Finnegans Wake. If you don’t like it then just accept that reading is not for you. No need to force it

      Bait.

And animal farm can be worth a re-read as an adult if you enjoyed it at all the first time.

Hitchhikers guide is funny as frick, the movie is good to bur doesn't do it justice, if your up for a challenge infinite jest is VERY good, but confusing if you jump in blind (I'm not gunna pretend to be a genius who got everything, I read it three times in basic and still am not sure what happened) the dresden files by Jim butcher is one of my favorite series and I started reading it when I was 12 so it's very approachable, it's about a wizard detective in modern Chicago fighting various supernatural threats, well written, mature (NOT YA) and a very interesting universe to the point I bought the rulebook to the tabletop game just to get more lore and background on the world

house of leaves is good as a new reader because it's a very boundary pushing and experimental book but also not difficult to read at all if you're not moronic. it's got crossover appeal with fight club too in its approach to mental illness (not DID though)

Read ‘Snuff’ by Palahnyuk, his style starts shining through in his later works, and they’re even more hilarious
