>I lost the password
SIR
>Can a KeePassXC database be cracked?
Yes, only it will take SIX GORILLION YEARS
Give it back Jamaal
the point of it is to be secure and virtually uncrackable
either turn on your supercomputer cluster or take your loss
Only if the password was exceptionally short/insecure
>video unavailable
nice bro
Give it back
the whole point of this program is to only have one long password that you need to remember
how could you possibly frick this up?
I use this:
username = base36(tuplehash(31, masterpassword, domain))
password = z85(tuplehash(128, masterpassword, domain, username))
keypair = ed25519(tuplehash(256, masterpassword, "ed25519", identity))
tuplehash(output_bits, t_1, ..., t_n) = shake128(t_1 || length(t_1) || ... || t_n || length(t_n) || n || output_bits)
Using this scheme you can derive all your passwords and secret keys (ssh, pgp, etc.) from a single master password in a secure way.
I've been doing something similar too. I just use sha256 and encode to base64 though. Is the added complexity really useful?
So many things wrong with this. Someone cracks one PW and knows the scheme, they know all PWs. You can't rotate PWs without changing the scheme or more shit to remember. Major PW managers are available on many platforms, that stuff: not really. Observing (BS) PW requirements (e.g. must have symbols from this narrow set) is way harder.
None of these are problems with KeePass and cousins. It has issues, but they all pale in comparison.
>Someone cracks one PW
practically impossible
>they know all PWs
Only if they know the masterpassword.
give it back, ivan
gm sar
You know israelitekrainians are also called Ivan right?
and? i just meant general eastern europe, seething russian moron
You are the one who is seething.
how so?
The original meme is give it back Tyrone.
You changed it to Ivan because you are winning. 😉
i changed it to ivan because Black folk cant use computers, meanwhile eastern europeans pirate and steal stuff on the internet.
you're the one whos offended by a silly, light hearted jest
You sounded like you want Russians to be put in the same place as Black folk. We have lots of those over here.
But thanks for making it clear.
you're so butthurt over a joke, ivan
maybe drink some vodka to loosen up a bit
>I lost the password
Should've used a password manager
in general no, but it depends on how strong the password was
