I have never had a job. For my entire adult life, I have been given small amounts of money by the government every month. I live with family and don't have to pay any bills or rent, so all the money goes on things like food and computers. If AGI replaces all the jobs, the government can either pay for everyone to live like me, or there will be riots and cannibalism and all the usual dystopic things.
What would an AI need humans for?
Either society collapses and the AI lives on without us or we establish a separate economy based entirely on human made goods and services. I don't see humanity existing in a world without value.

My grandpa is almost 100 years old and has spent HALF of his life being retired. There has been talk from him, as well as my dad, about "the hard times" when money was tight and he had to work a lot, but for the entire time I've been alive he has lived the dream neet life. All he does is leisure stuff that he enjoys. It dumbfounds me that he hasn't done anything in the past 50 years. There are millions of things he could've done, he could've gone into woodworking, painting, learned a musical instrument, written a book, ANYTHING, but he has done NOTHING with his life and, worst of all, nobody calls him out on it.
