this baby finally came out!
Im tied in either picking the sanding qdoled gaming monitor or lgs monitor!
I am leaning towards to the ultragear monitor though
I wish i had it with an Xbox and PlayStation
I dont like Nintendo that much since im only interested in one game they have
Are you guys getting one of these 4k OLED gaming monitors?
Shopping Cart Returner Shirt $21.68 |
I got a C3 before these were announced, and while I think 120 hz is barely enough, I don't want to go back to miniature monitors. I will not be upgrading until 42'' 8k 120 hz or 42'' 4k 240 hz becomes a thing.
Oh man ive heard so much good stuff about the c series from lg
Big screen but not too big and it seems perfect for gamers like me who dont play multiplayer
I can hook up some great bookshelf speakers to it for movies
4K120 seems awesome
>120 hz is barely enough
Are humans evolving or something? I can barley tell the difference between 60 and 120hz, I can only imagine going beyond 120hz would be entering the realm of self delusion, like a video version of audiophiles.
guess which side of the bell curve you're on
27" is the ideal size for a desk monitor idiot
What are the videos?
Could you screenshot the title or name them for me?
Im wary of clicking it
>Are you going to consoom
No
What makes you say that? Why do you think its wrong?
I think it is unwise to buy into the latest tech immediately upon release.
>You pay a premium
>end up being a beta tester
>something significantly better comes out within the year for the same cost or less
>you are stuck with a shitty item you can't even sell.
The only time I broke this rule was when the vive came out, and I still use that thing pretty often and wanted to support vr as an emerging technology. I'm also not poor, I just don't like giving my money away like all those people who bought apple visions or whatever.
Well said, unless you can afford it, then go for it.
I'm waiting for the QD-OLED equivalent to be available.
>something significantly better comes out within the year for the same cost or less
This. QD-OLED has 3× the lifetime.
Alienware has the 3rd gen qdoled panel but the Samsung Odyssey one hasn’t came out yet
Does it come with an 8 year warranty and a 4090 + free upgrade to 6090? No? Not interested.
You can add a three year warranty
Pathetic. Until I get LCD tier lifespans, it's not worth it. See, I don't operate like a consumer prostitute. I buy something that works nicely and use it for a long time to get the most out of my money instead of scrambling over every other announcement of NEW PRODUCT. The LCD I'm using now? It will work in 10 years almost guaranteed (I have brightness at 16/100, so yes, it will last that long under me).
Consumer lcd isnt being developed anymore
The only good ones are reference monitors that cost 30k
Theres people that post about their OLED tv with 10k hours already
I think its pretty good
Like the other post here:
An LG C4 seems real nice
Especially Black Friday will have have GeForce 50 and new intel out
>10k hours
Oh wow a tv that can withstand 2 years and a half of use? Damn!
You mindless coonsumer
Thats three years of daily use at 8 hours a day
It should last at least five but by that point tvs wouldve evolved by at least a magnitude
Its not really an issue anymore in 2024
Tv manufacturers dropped lcd and I think only china makes them now
Consumer lcd has hit its limit
Theyre really good now
You dont need to run any of that stuff
Rtings site has had a stress test on a tv for over a year of 24/7 usage in worst case scenario and no burn in at all on the ultragear OLED 1440p monitor
I want a sock one display setup
If i had to get two monitors i would get the qdoled Samsung Odyssey as a yin yang for the LG UltraGear
>Consumer lcd has hit its limit
You're an actual moron or literal shill.
10k hours is literally nothing consoomer homosexual
crt monitor tubes easily last 50k hours or longer if you dont go moronic with brightness
That's a long time to run, did it ever reach Europe?
buy an ad.
A billion dollar company wont make a post here to advertise and if i was lg i wouldnt have mentioned anyone else as an alternative like i did
and what you gonna play, cs 1.6? Not a single new game has black color in it.
>31.5"
7.5" too big
I dread to think of using one of these with windows 11, with that taskbar stuck down there forever.
>OLED
>Monitor
moron
Mindless consumerism website.
*burns in*
>oled
>monitor
pick one
inb4
>just run pixel refresher everyday
>just disable taskbar
>just turn down the brightness
>just set dark theme everywhere
>just turn on pixel shift
>just disable static elements
>just disable in-game osd
I think I will use it only for gaming and movies. I already have two screens, including an Acer Predator XB271HU (first 1440p 165 Hz IPS), and it's enough for any other usage.
love my OLED
OLED tech isnt there yet or is not the one
The chance of your screen getting burn in is not a good deal
With OLED you get the chance that your screen will start looking worse.
With lcd you get a screen that always looks poor.
If crts didnt exist OLED would be the only logical choice
The more I observe human beings, the more I realize I have amazing general judgment.
Don't care about this shit until it has a usable subpixel layout and no burn in issues.
