>like, like, like, like, like
This is so annoying and probably thanks to the putrid egalitarian mindset which states having any standards is evil and conceited. I like came across this video which like shows that like even people who are like in schools which you'd expect to like be like some of the top schools in like the planet, like Philips Exeter, keep like saying like every like 4th word

Cutting school budgets makes people talk more moronic, surprise. You could at least have asked for some book recommendations to pretend that you belong here.
Philips Exeter is one of the wealthiest schools on the planet, "cutting school budgets" certainly isn't an issue there and given I prefaced my post with mentioning the drop in standards I figured it would be obvious what I was getting at in IQfy of all places. Do you think some slam poetry bullshit is on the same league as Homer or Virgil? Because it seems to me IQfy understand that a defining characteristic of works worth talking about is having standards. If you can't see that underlying theme and need threads to always be a list of sorts then that's your problem.
I'll add that another thing which stands out is what once used to be the infamous valley girl accent is now very widespread, these people have a hard time speaking in anything but "question mode".
Le upward inflection(?)
exter is for dorktastic asians and israelites from New York city and beijing
actual preps go to expensive as frick day schools in their own city since all the sex scandals at boarding schools came out
>Exeter
>good
It’s glorified daycare for rich people who can’t stand the sight of their children
Still a very rich school, which goes against the post being addressed claiming that it's about funding.
I also wonder which schools you consider top tier. How many places can offer such a variety of courses and extracurricular activities? I don't know if that applies to you, but I've found many people online are from global cities like NYC and vastly underestimate the impact of having access to, well, pretty much anything. The difference from barely having access to a church choir vs an ensemble with professional coaches allowing you to play any instrument makes a big difference in life, and this can also be used as an analogy for areas other than music. For some people an environment like that is the only place they can dream of having access to certain things so I wonder what you think is superior (and I'm talking about quality, not a place that's simply more expensive for the sake of exclusivity).
tell me more about this specifically
About what? Access to educational resources?
Alternatively, think before you speak. Not that hard.

>Cutting school budgets
Increasing school budgets has the same effect.
Don't you know that throwing money at things magically improves shitty teachers and shitty students from shitty families turning everything into a Disney movie? OMG YOU'RE LITERALLY HITLER
yeah money needs to be used intelligently. but theres no need to go all reddit sarcasm on 4cha, gay
Wait until you take the the enunciation noticing pill. Everybody sounds like cold pasta salad made out of moron chunks to me now.
>Ders a lodov oben greeb spaysp
>Old argidegsdurzo beyoodafoo
>GomP'elled to go on wogs aroun' cambus
>Ders a beyoodafoo boad houdz
>Smores nides
>Lige ommm, lige ommm
Do you have any advice on how to become an enunciation noticer? I want to learn about enunciation but am not sure where to start
Not him, but do they not bother you? Just listen for one to manifest, and then start focusing on it. Do the ''ums'' and ''uhs'' while you are at it.
I'm very much used to it because it's the society I grew up in, but I do see that it's a bad thing
Like seethe and like cope even
Totally, like thoughever.
This is how women speak now. Got a problem with it?
yes
>women speak
this is another problem i have
>women don’t speak to me*
Ftfy
Like you're pretty like insecure huh?
I think it's the speech register as well, they are supposed to follow a certain scheme/speed/cadence and so even if they aren't ESL they constantly need filler words to maintain it. And like like is like one of the words which like when it comes to like spacing your sentence to kinda like keep the flow it kinda like works well.
A fourth grade teacher bullied this mannerism out of my class. If you said like too often she would interrupt you and say it back to you. Doubt this would fly anymore. Probably the best teacher I have ever had all the way through college.
no, anyone can do anything here.
Most normies got bombarded by californian millennial valleygurl speak in their formative years.
What else can you expect when most people rather take on precut personalities?
>California amasses people that produce English-language media
>People that learn English through media start speaking with Californian accent
Truly shocking. Millions must die, etc.
Maybe those are affirmative action students, look at the number of blacks in there, they're not even that big a proportion of the US (would make sense to have more hispanics than blacks, for example) and given their average IQ you'd expect to see only a few of them, yet that isn't what happens. Americans worship blacks and it certainly feel like those elite places (I'm including universities such as Harvard in that group) go the extra mile with virtue signal since being le anti-racist is a very important status symbol among their cohort. So basically there's a pretty good chance many of those blacks are there simply because they're black.
Better than chinks going around saying
>homie homie homie
>egalitarian mindset which states having any standards is evil and conceited.
people preaching "equality" while willfully ignoring the amorality of our "leaders", the usurious world bank, and an increasingly orwellian state are demented. doesn't it make the whole thing all a bit of a joke? a bad comedy?
accept your own degree
i don't understand your reply.
like is a replacement for um, or general pauses in speach, and akin, as well as a subtle way to indicate that you arent upset in any way in speech.
instead of
>I uh need to talk to you, now, uh I am not mad, its akin to an issue uh earlier
we have
>i like need to talk to you, like now, like about an earlierrr... like issue.
in my opinion uhhh and ummm are more annoying, even though I'm not a fan of like either
I say it in my IQfy posts now. I don't know where this habit started but it just did a few weeks ago.
what can i say, it's useful. better than saying "about 4 years ago", you can say "like, 4 years ago"
it gets the subjectivity and accuracy of my memory across more clearly, in the second case than the first. I think it's the informalness of the word.
that isn't better
>Like, you know?
>literally
>actually
The second a person uses these not in the most correct context then they are completely disregarded by me.
Literally Hitler
That used to really annoy me but these days ebonics has become very widespread so the valley prostitute thing seems tame in comparison.
