Linux: updates in seconds, regularly doesn't need to be rebooted and let's you get your work done.
Windows: updates take over an hour and every time, reboots rendering your device useless until it's done.
Why do you put up with Windows? I'm about to test this laptops ability to run Linux. If it can't, it's going up for sale.

use chris titus winutil to disable updates dumbass
>chris titus
>complete boomer who fricking fricks up all his repo shit
>promoted troony chrome fork
Also he's most likely using LTSC which if you use winulti, fricks it up.
What issue does it have with ltsc?
>has to tinker with his os like trannies tinker with their bodies
Windows updates take a maximum of 5 minutes and an average of 2 minutes I think your PC is just shit
It only has one stick of ddr4 ram, I need to upgrade it.
Typical Windows update on a good PC with fast connection:
>open windows update, it immediately says you're up to date
>click check for updates 4-5 times until it starts checking
>two minutes later it says updates are available
>click download button 4-5 times until it starts downloading
>5 minutes later windows update says updates are available and there's a download option
>click download button 4-5 times until it starts downloading
>30 minutes later it has installed updates
>need to reboot
>PC reboots, updates, reboots, updates, reboots, updates...
>login, oh well, it's been an hour now, time to shutdown the PC
>choose update and shutdown
>reboots, updates and back to login screen
>shutdown the PC
and then there are the frick you update errors, just search solution yourself for 0xhomosexualCODE and end up in microshit forums with independent advisors telling you to turn your PC off and on again and to run sfc /scannow.
?
You just click "shutdown and update" when the option appears and want to stop using the PC and it updates on its own. Why do you force it like a moron and create problems that don't exist?
shutdown and update does not always shutdown the PC, it reboots to login screen where you have to shutdown, Prabhakar

linux updates when you tell it to, updates take around 10 seconds to complete
>disables windows update
yeah i can't relate
not an upDOOTer
>Linux: updates in seconds, regularly doesn't need to be rebooted and let's you get your work done.
nice meme
Use a real distribution like gentoo.
>use linux
>no not like that
Correct. Not my fault canonical doesn't know how to properly use the chroot command and on the fly updating. Rhel and fedora would suffice as well. Use a proper complete distribution that actually works properly and isn't half assed.
not him but guis like that are designed for people who don't know how to do things like restart services individually upon updating them, telling such users to simply reboot the whole machine is just the easy solution
if you know how to update a system without rebooting, you can do so
> thinks linux is an operating system
typical IQfytard
Wow I didn't know the linux kernel had a built in updater that's crazy
it just werks
Windows is trying to tell you to get off your ass, go outside and look at the distant view so that your eyes gets a break from staring up close at the screen all day. It for your own good.
>once every couple of months I need to spend 5 whole minutes on a reboot
It's unbearable bros. I think I'll install a hobbyist OS instead so I can spend several minutes every day troubleshooting something and placing my OS in the hands of whoever feels like maintaining it that day.
but enough about windows
>thread about Windows
>ask people to stop talking about Windows
is this bait?
I moved back to Windows (Win10 LTSC 2021 IoT) because I got fricking tired of Linuxtards and how everything slowly is turning to shit there.
Get you shit together, tardwrangle Linus Torvalds out of his Rustroony phase, kill all Waylandgays and generally clean this shit and I may be back. As it is now I just don't feel like dealing with more shit than needed.
Rust is amazing. It's memory safe friend.
"muh safety"
You'll be safest in the coffin, you know what to do.
Safety is nothing more than dogshit buzzword if it's impairs functionality. Computers are tools, they are supposed to do fricking things and not be just "muh safe" boxes. As it is right now people like you turned Linux into non-functional mess, "Year of Linux Desktop" will never happen.
>Windows: updates take over an hour
What kind of fricking potato are you running it on?
Ryzen 3350h with a gtx 1050 laptop with 16gb ddr4 ram.
Oh 250gb nvme gen 3 ssd with dram as well. Not the greatest system in the world but there's zero reason windows 11 should be this fricking slow. It's painful. O booted Linux mint into it and installed it and it flies. It's so much faster it's not even remotely close.
Windows updates are like once in month and be done with when you shut down your pc. You can control updates in group policy.
>updates take over an hour
I restart my Windows PC once a week and it takes AT MOST one minute if there's an update. It's not Microsoft's fault you purchased a shitty HP gaming laptop.
Linux works great on it. Windows is trash. Sorry it's his facts. It is Microsoft fault for making 11 such a bloated mess.
As you had old shitty HP shittop, you should have stayed with 10 until the beta test of 11 is over at 2025
>Linux: updates in seconds
This just isn't true
Explain a time when your linux updates have taken maken more than 60s
pretty much just
it depends mainly on your internet speed. every time i update, most of the time is spent just downloading the packages
No software
Cursed by those that made it and those that use it
>Windows: updates take over an hour and every time
Rarely more than 10 minutes on my old laptop.
firefox is thee biggest b***h, its like updating libre office suite its so goddamn huge and they push updates like hourly
i just updated my system and the volume got maxed out (normally i use 20%) so my ears got hit for using linux
