Linux: updates in seconds, regularly doesn't need to be rebooted and let's you get your work done.

Linux: updates in seconds, regularly doesn't need to be rebooted and let's you get your work done.
Windows: updates take over an hour and every time, reboots rendering your device useless until it's done.
Why do you put up with Windows? I'm about to test this laptops ability to run Linux. If it can't, it's going up for sale.

Windows updates take a maximum of 5 minutes and an average of 2 minutes I think your PC is just shit

Typical Windows update on a good PC with fast connection:
      >open windows update, it immediately says you're up to date
      >click check for updates 4-5 times until it starts checking
      >two minutes later it says updates are available
      >click download button 4-5 times until it starts downloading
      >5 minutes later windows update says updates are available and there's a download option
      >click download button 4-5 times until it starts downloading
      >30 minutes later it has installed updates
      >need to reboot
      >PC reboots, updates, reboots, updates, reboots, updates...
      >login, oh well, it's been an hour now, time to shutdown the PC
      >choose update and shutdown
      >reboots, updates and back to login screen
      >shutdown the PC
and then there are the frick you update errors, just search solution yourself for 0xhomosexualCODE and end up in microshit forums with independent advisors telling you to turn your PC off and on again and to run sfc /scannow.

        ?
You just click "shutdown and update" when the option appears and want to stop using the PC and it updates on its own. Why do you force it like a moron and create problems that don't exist?

shutdown and update does not always shutdown the PC, it reboots to login screen where you have to shutdown, Prabhakar

Correct. Not my fault canonical doesn't know how to properly use the chroot command and on the fly updating. Rhel and fedora would suffice as well. Use a proper complete distribution that actually works properly and isn't half assed.

not him but guis like that are designed for people who don't know how to do things like restart services individually upon updating them, telling such users to simply reboot the whole machine is just the easy solution
if you know how to update a system without rebooting, you can do so

Windows is trying to tell you to get off your ass, go outside and look at the distant view so that your eyes gets a break from staring up close at the screen all day. It for your own good.

It's unbearable bros. I think I'll install a hobbyist OS instead so I can spend several minutes every day troubleshooting something and placing my OS in the hands of whoever feels like maintaining it that day.

I moved back to Windows (Win10 LTSC 2021 IoT) because I got fricking tired of Linuxtards and how everything slowly is turning to shit there.
Get you shit together, tardwrangle Linus Torvalds out of his Rustroony phase, kill all Waylandgays and generally clean this shit and I may be back. As it is now I just don't feel like dealing with more shit than needed.

You'll be safest in the coffin, you know what to do.
Safety is nothing more than dogshit buzzword if it's impairs functionality. Computers are tools, they are supposed to do fricking things and not be just "muh safe" boxes. As it is right now people like you turned Linux into non-functional mess, "Year of Linux Desktop" will never happen.

Oh 250gb nvme gen 3 ssd with dram as well. Not the greatest system in the world but there's zero reason windows 11 should be this fricking slow. It's painful. O booted Linux mint into it and installed it and it flies. It's so much faster it's not even remotely close.

I restart my Windows PC once a week and it takes AT MOST one minute if there's an update. It's not Microsoft's fault you purchased a shitty HP gaming laptop.
